App Store Submission Manchester

Getting an app approved takes more than uploading a build. We prepare and submit apps to Apple’s App Store and Google Play for Manchester businesses, handling the privacy forms, reviewer access and listing details, and dealing with any rejection that comes back.

What app review checks, and where submissions go wrong

Every new app and update is reviewed before going live: Apple against its App Store Review Guidelines, Google against Play policies. Both look at how the app behaves, what it claims and how it handles user data.

Most rejections are avoidable. Usual causes are crashes or broken features during review, incomplete information such as a missing demo login, and in-app purchase rules: digital goods and content sold inside an app generally need to use the store’s own billing.

Data declarations matter too. Apple’s App Privacy details and Google’s Data safety form should both match what the app and its SDKs really collect.

Who we help with submission

We submit apps we build in Manchester, and apps built elsewhere that are stuck at the last step.

  • Owners with a finished app but no experience of the store consoles.
  • Teams whose app has been rejected and who need someone to read the notes and fix the cause.
  • Owners of new Google Play personal accounts who need to run the required closed test first.
  • Companies moving an existing app to their own developer account.

How we get an app through review

1

Pre-submission check

We test the release build on real devices for crashes and dead ends, and compare features against the guidelines.

2

Privacy declarations

We list the data the app and its SDKs collect, then complete App Privacy details and the Data safety form to match.

3

Listing and assets

We prepare the name, description, screenshots for the required device sizes, category, content questionnaire answers and support links.

4

Reviewer access

We create a working demo account and write clear review notes explaining any login, hardware or location needs.

5

Submit and respond

We submit, track the review and, if it is rejected, reply through the resolution channel or fix and resubmit.

What you get

  • A pre-submission test report on the release build.
  • Completed App Privacy details and Play Data safety form.
  • Store listing copy and screenshots for both stores.
  • A demo account and written notes for reviewers.
  • Closed testing set up on Google Play where your account needs it.
  • Handling of review messages and any resubmission.

Google Play rules new accounts often miss

Google Play has two requirements that catch people out. First, new personal developer accounts must run a closed test with a minimum number of opted-in testers for 14 days before they can apply for production access. Because the rule is aimed at personal accounts, it is worth deciding early which account type fits your business.

Second, Play sets target API level rules. New apps and updates have to target a recent Android version. Keeping on top of this is part of our app maintenance work.

For Apple, a clean iOS build that follows the guidelines is half the job; the rest is accurate metadata and a reviewer who can log in.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my app rejected?

The rejection message names the guideline or policy involved, though often briefly. Frequent culprits are crashes during review, a broken demo login, an unclear purpose and digital purchases that bypass store billing. Send us the message and we will explain what needs changing.

Can you submit an app someone else built?

Yes. We need the source code or a signed release build, plus a role on your developer accounts. We test it first, because a build that crashes only wastes a review cycle, and we explain any fixes needed before starting work on them.

What do I need to fill in for Google Play Data safety?

The form asks what user data the app collects or shares and why. It must cover data gathered by SDKs such as analytics and crash reporting as well as your own code, which is the part most often missed. We audit the build so the answers match reality.

Does the app need to be published under my company name?

We recommend it. Publishing under your own developer account means you own the listing and its download history. An app published under a developer’s personal account can be awkward to move later, so we set it up in your name from the start.

Can I sell subscriptions without Apple or Google billing?

For digital goods and content used inside the app, the stores generally require their own in-app purchase systems. Physical goods and real-world services follow different rules. We check your model against the current guidelines before you build checkout, since this is a frequent rejection reason.
