Feather Flags: your questions answered

Still unsure? Call 0161 315 1151, WhatsApp 07737 902425 or send us a message.

Quick answers

What sizes are feather flags?

Four flag sizes are listed: 2.6m, 3.2m, 4m and 4.9m, plus Base Only (no flag) for buyers who want a base on its own. The 3.2m sits as a middle ground between the compact and the tall options. If you would prefer a rounded outline rather than the feather shape, see Teardrop Flags.

Which feather flag base do I need?

Match the base to the surface. The Standard Ground Spike and Budget Ground Spike go into grass. The Concrete Base, Large Cross Base and Small Square Base stand on paving, and the Small Water Base and Large Water Base are fillable options for hard ground. The Drive on Car Base goes under a tyre. Choose None if you already own one, or ask us.

What does a feather flag cost?

One feather flag starts at £44.95 on the cheapest combination. 10 flags start at £194.26 and 20 start at £365.93. Height, print sides and base all change the figure, and the configurator shows your live total as you pick. For quantities over 99, use Get a Quote.

How fast are feather flags produced?

Expect around 5 working days for production as a typical figure. Delivery time comes on top, or you can collect from the Manchester studio when the flags are ready. For a fixed event date, build in a margin, and add any matching items from the display range to the same order.

Do I need double sided printing on a feather flag?

Choose Double Sided Print if people will see the flag from both sides, for example on a verge, a pitch side or an open pavement. Single Sided Print is the standard specification and suits a flag placed against a wall or hedge. The Sides Printed dropdown also has None for base-only orders. For other branded outdoor items, see our promotional products.

Can I pick up feather flags in person?

Yes. Collection is from our studio at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. You can also have the flags delivered anywhere in the UK; the delivery charge is calculated at checkout. If you also need a permanent sign for the same premises, see our shop signs service.

Can you create my feather flag design?

Yes. The Professional artwork and design service costs +£36.00 at the artwork step. Feather flags are tall and narrow, so a good layout usually runs the brand name vertically or keeps one short word large near the top. Supplying your own print-ready file is free. Need a logo first? See Logo and Brand Refresh.

When should I choose the 3.2m feather flag?

Pick 3.2m when 2.6m feels too short to be seen over parked cars but 4m or 4.9m would dominate the space. It works well for shop forecourts, garden centres and club entrances. Check overhead clearance before ordering. For a pavement sign at eye level, add an A-Frame Sign.

Is 4.9m the tallest feather flag?

Yes, 4.9m is the tallest size in the dropdown, ahead of 4m, 3.2m and 2.6m. It suits open ground such as a car park entrance, a dealership frontage or an event field, where it can be seen from a distance. For roadside banners at the same location, see PVC Banners.

Can I replace a damaged flag but keep my base?

Yes. Choose your flag size and set the Base dropdown to None, so the base is left off the order. Make sure the new size matches your existing pole. If you are unsure, send a photo of the pole and base to hello@webprintsigns.co.uk before ordering and the team will check.

What is the Base Only option for?

It lets you buy an extra base without a flag, which is handy if you move a flag between grass and paving and want the right base waiting at each spot. Pick the base type in the Base dropdown. Browse other outdoor items in the signage category.

Which base is best on grass?

Use a ground spike. Two are listed, the Standard Ground Spike and the Budget Ground Spike, and both are meant for soft ground such as fields, verges and lawns. The page does not compare them in detail, so call 0161 315 1151 for advice. For a backdrop at the same field event, see event backdrop printing.

What base should I use on a shop forecourt?

Hard surfaces need a freestanding base. The Large Cross Base, Small Square Base and Concrete Base all sit on paving, while the Large Water Base and Small Water Base can be emptied when you move them. Think about whether the flag will stay out overnight. For a fixed sign above the shop, see fascia signs.

Is the Drive on Car Base only for car dealers?

Car dealers are the obvious users, but any business with a car park can use it, such as a garden centre or vehicle hire firm. A vehicle wheel rests on the base and keeps the flag upright. Brand your own vans too with our van graphics service.

How many feather flags can I order?

The dropdown goes from 1 to 10 individually, then 20, 30, 40, 50, 75 and 99. That covers a single flag at a shop door up to a full set lining a showground. For more than 99, request a price on the quote page with your sizes and bases.

Is it cheaper to buy feather flags in bulk?

Per flag, yes. On the cheapest combination, 50 flags come to £891.22, while 2 come to £61.54. The real cost depends on your size, sides printed and base, and the configurator shows it live. Matching Outdoor Posters can extend the same campaign to noticeboards and windows.

Why does the price change when I pick a base?

Each base is a different piece of hardware, so the Base dropdown is part of the live price. Setting it to None removes the base from the order. Compare a few combinations on the product page before checking out. For extra event kit, browse the print shop.

What should I put on a feather flag?

Stick to one message, such as your brand name or a single word like SALE, OPEN or EVENT. The narrow shape leaves little room and the flag moves, so short words in large letters work best. Use strong contrast between text and background. For longer messages, use PVC banner printing.

Which file format should I send for a feather flag?

The safest file is a print-ready PDF set up at the full size of your chosen flag height. Keep logos and text clear of the pole edge and the curved outer edge. If you have questions about setting up a tall, narrow layout, get in touch before you upload.

Can I order feather flags with different designs?

Yes. Put each design in the cart as a separate item with its own artwork. A common setup is a brand flag plus an offer flag, so you can swap the offer while the brand stays out all year. For campaign leaflets to hand out, see flyer printing.

What are the steps to order feather flags?

Pick the size, sides printed, base and quantity. The price refreshes with each choice. Then select whether you are supplying artwork or using the design service, add to cart, and pay by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay at the Stripe checkout. Want a custom shape or size? Ask through Get a Quote.

Can I add other items to the same order?

Yes, keep shopping before checkout and everything goes through in one payment. Roller banners, posters and pavement signs are common companions for a launch. Start with the Roller Banners page if you want something for inside the venue too.

Do you deliver feather flags nationwide?

Yes. Feather flags can go to any UK address, with the delivery cost shown at checkout before you pay. Customers in Greater Manchester can collect from the studio instead. Our areas we cover page lists the local towns we serve.

When will my feather flags be ready to collect?

Production usually takes around 5 working days from your order. Check with the team that everything is ready before you travel, and bring your order details with you. To arrange a collection time, call 0161 315 1151 or use the contact page.

Are feather flags good for a shop opening?

Yes. A pair either side of the entrance tells passers-by something new is happening, and they can stay out for later promotions. Use your logo and a word like OPEN. Add shop window graphics so the glass carries the same message.

Can sports clubs use feather flags?

Yes. Clubs use them at the pitch side, by the clubhouse and at tournaments, often with sponsor logos. Ground spikes suit grass pitches, and the flags pack away between matches. For kit and merchandise in club colours, see Custom Printed T-Shirts.

Do feather flags work for estate agents and developers?

Yes. A flag at a show home or development entrance helps people find it from the road, especially where the site is set back. Choose a base that suits the ground. For signs that guide visitors from the entrance to the sales office, see our directional signs.

Feather or crest: which shape should I choose?

The feather shape is fixed on this page, and it offers a 3.2m size that the crest page does not list. Crest flags come in 2.6m, 4 m and 4.9m. Both share the same choice of bases. Compare the outlines side by side on the Crest Flags page.

Can I use feather flags at markets and festivals?

Yes, they help visitors find your stall in a crowd. Spikes work on grass and water bases on hard standing. Put one at each corner of a larger pitch. Pair them with a printed tablecloth on the stall so the branding runs from the ground up.
