Mobile App Development Sale
Mobile app development covers planning, designing, building and publishing apps for iPhone and Android. We work with Sale businesses that have a clear reason for customers or staff to open an app often, such as salons and clinics with repeat clients, independent shops with loyal regulars and trades running jobs across Trafford.

When an app suits a Sale business, and when it does not
An app is worth building when people come back to you again and again. A salon whose clients rebook every few weeks, a cafe on School Road running a stamp card, or a trade firm whose engineers need job details on site all share that pattern. A firm customers contact once a year usually needs a good mobile website instead.
We say so on the first call. Sometimes the honest answer is a progressive web app, which installs from the browser and avoids the app stores. Sometimes it is a native app with push notifications, offline storage and camera access. Our mobile app development service in Manchester covers the full range of builds.
How the build runs between your premises and our office
Workshops, design walkthroughs and demos happen on video calls, and you install test versions on your own phone through TestFlight for iPhone and Google Play internal testing for Android. Some decisions are easier around a table, so you are welcome at our M8 office, about 30 to 35 minutes away by the A56 or M60 depending on traffic. For staff apps we can arrange to visit and watch your team at work.
Stages of an app project
Define the core job
We agree the one or two things the app must do well at launch and park everything else on a later list.
Prototype in Figma
We design the screens and share a clickable prototype so you can tap through it before any code is written.
Build in short rounds
Most apps are built with React Native and Expo, so one codebase serves iPhone and Android, backed by Supabase or Firebase.
Test on real phones
We try older and newer handsets, weak signal, large text settings and screen readers, then fix what we find.
Submit to both stores
We prepare listings, privacy labels and screenshots, then answer any questions Apple and Google raise.
Maintain and improve
After launch we keep the app working with new iOS and Android versions and plan features from real usage.
Deliverables that stay yours
- Figma design files and a clickable prototype
- Source code in a Git repository under your account
- Live listings on the App Store and Google Play, held in your own developer accounts
- An admin dashboard for content, bookings or jobs
- A handover document covering logins, hosting and how new releases are published
App ideas that fit how Sale shops and trades operate
The outlines below are hypothetical.
- A salon or clinic app: repeat bookings, reminders, aftercare notes and a client record, linked to the calendar your staff already use.
- A field app for a trade firm: the day’s jobs, access notes, before and after photos and a customer signature, working offline when signal drops in a loft or cellar.
- A loyalty app for an independent cafe or shop: a digital stamp card, opening hours and a short menu, with push notices people can switch off.
- A club app for a group meeting near Sale Water Park: timetables, sign-ups and cancellation alerts when weather changes plans.
For appointment-led ideas, see our page on booking app development. Engineers should see field service apps.
Frequently asked questions
Can we meet in Sale to talk through an app idea?
Yes. We can arrange to visit your premises, which is especially useful for staff apps where we need to see how work is done. If you would rather come to us, our M8 office is roughly 30 to 35 minutes by road.
Will the app cope with patchy signal on the Metrolink into the city?
It can, if we plan for it. We store recent data on the phone, queue actions such as bookings until a connection returns, and show clear messages rather than spinning wheels. We test with throttled networks before release so commuters on the Altrincham line still get a usable app.
Do I need separate apps for iPhone and Android?
Not usually. React Native lets one codebase produce both apps. A fully native build in Swift or Kotlin makes sense when an app leans heavily on device features, and we explain the trade-off before you decide.
Who owns the app and its code once it is finished?
You do. The code sits in a repository under your account, the store listings sit in your Apple and Google developer accounts, and hosting is billed to you. If you ever move to another developer, everything they need is already in your hands.
How long do Apple and Google take to approve a new app?
It varies. Many submissions clear within a few days, but a first release can take longer if Apple or Google asks for a test login or wants changes to privacy wording. We prepare demo accounts in advance.
