WordPress Speed Optimisation Whitefield
If your Whitefield site has quietly got slower every year, something is loading that nobody chose. We find out what, take it out, and give you the measurements either side so you are not relying on anyone’s opinion that it feels quicker.

Speed decides who gets the call around here
Trade in Whitefield is local and settled fast. A person wanting a dentist, a deli or an electrician opens a couple of sites on a phone while walking, and rings whoever loads. There is no second look for the one that showed a blank screen.
Practices and professional firms tend to have small sites where everything rests on one booking or contact page, and that page is frequently the slowest on the site because of an embedded third-party widget. Trades are the opposite: lots of job photographs straight off a phone, any one of which can weigh more than the rest of the page together.
There are published targets for this. Largest Contentful Paint should land inside 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint inside 200 milliseconds, and Cumulative Layout Shift below 0.1. Our WordPress speed optimisation service in Manchester is built around hitting them, and the same people work on Whitefield sites.
Being fifteen minutes away
Our office is further down the A56, so a visit here is no trouble at all. In practice websites are easier to examine over a shared screen than across a desk, so we normally start with a call and save the visit for the handover, when there is something to look at together.
Either way the work itself runs on a staging copy. Your live site keeps trading while we strip things out of a duplicate, and nothing moves across until you have seen what it did.
The sequence
Record where you start
Real visitor data where Google has collected it, plus controlled tests on the pages that bring you work. Everything afterwards gets judged against this.
Trace every request
A request-by-request view of what the browser fetches. Almost always there is something on it that nobody realised was loading site-wide.
Take out the weight
Unused plugins go, the rest get confined to the pages that need them, and oversized photographs are brought down to the size they are shown at.
Then tune the stack
PHP version, object and page caching, compression, and a delivery network only when the numbers say it helps.
Prove it
The identical tests, rerun, with both columns side by side and an explanation of which change produced which gain.
At the end of it
- Two sets of vitals, taken the same way, for the pages that matter to you
- A record of every plugin dropped, swapped or confined, with reasons
- Photographs converted, scaled and deferred below the first screen
- Caching and compression handled by the server instead of a plugin
- Font and script loading ordered so nothing jumps while it draws
- A short list of the things that would put the weight back on
The usual culprits, in the order we meet them
Page builders head the list. They make editing simple and they ship a great deal of code with every page, whether or not that page uses any of it. Behind them come booking and chat widgets loading everywhere instead of only where somebody can book, and photographs at several times the dimensions they are displayed at.
Less obvious, and very common on older sites: a plugin installed years ago for one page that still loads on all of them, and fonts pulled from three separate sources. None of this needs a redesign to fix. If the hosting is genuinely the ceiling we will tell you so rather than tune around it, and talk about a hosting migration instead; on gallery-heavy trade sites, image optimisation is sometimes the entire job.
Frequently asked questions
Does the site have to come offline while you work?
No. A duplicate is used throughout and the finished state is moved over in a single short step. Where you take bookings or orders we pick a quiet hour for that rather than doing it mid morning.
Our booking system belongs to someone else. Does that stop you?
It limits what we can alter inside their widget, but not where and when it loads. Very often the gain comes simply from not loading it on the pages where nobody can book, which is most of the site.
Is it worth it if we only get a few enquiries a week?
Possibly not, and we would say so. Where the numbers are small the bigger problem is usually that too few people reach the site at all, and speed is only part of that. We will tell you which one you have before taking the work on.
How soon does Google notice?
Controlled tests change as soon as it goes live. The figures Google reports come from real visitors gathered over a rolling window, so those move more slowly. You get shown both, which stops anyone reading too much into one of them.
