Sign Removal Manchester
Taking over a unit, closing a branch, rebranding or handing a building back to the landlord usually means an old sign has to come down first. We remove shop signs, fascia panels, projecting signs, built-up letters and window lettering across Manchester, including signs that need access equipment to reach.

Survey and quote
Come in, call us or we come to you. We measure up on site, design it, make it and fit it. Real Web Print Signs jobs:

What we take down
- Fascia panels and aluminium trays
- Built-up and flat-cut letters, including the fixings and locators behind them
- Projecting and hanging signs, with their brackets
- Lightbox signs, once an electrician has made the supply safe
- Window lettering, frosted film and one way vision
- Wall-mounted panels, totem faces and old directional signs
Signs at height
Most fascias sit above head height and many older signs are higher still. We bring the access equipment the job needs, plan where it stands, keep the pavement below clear while we work and lower heavy panels down rather than dropping them. If a sign is too high or too heavy for our usual kit, we tell you at the survey and plan the job around it before booking a date.
How a removal job runs
Photos or a survey
Send photos by WhatsApp or email, or we visit to look at the sign, what it is fixed into and how we will reach it.
A fixed quote
You get a price for the removal and for taking the waste away, before anything is booked.
Power made safe
For illuminated signs, the supply must be isolated by a qualified electrician before we start. We do not carry out electrical work.
Removal
Panels, letters and brackets come down, fixings are taken out and the waste leaves with us.
Ready for what comes next
We show you the wall or fascia board behind, and point out any damage or repairs it may need before a new sign goes up.
Removing an old sign before fitting a new one
If you are rebranding, the old sign and the new one can be handled as one job, so the frontage is bare for as short a time as possible. See our shop signs, fascia signs and illuminated signs pages for the new sign side of the work.
Leaving premises? Many leases expect the frontage returned without the tenant’s signs. Check your lease or ask the landlord what they expect, and we will work to that.
What do customers ask before ordering?
How much does sign removal cost?
It depends on the size of the sign, how it is fixed, how high it is and whether access equipment is needed. Send photos and we will give you a fixed quote before any work is booked.
Can you remove an illuminated sign?
Yes, once the electrical supply has been isolated by a qualified electrician. We remove the sign itself but do not do any electrical work.
Will the wall or fascia be damaged?
We take signs down carefully and remove the fixings, but old fixings can leave holes and older boards can be weak behind a sign. We show you what is behind and point out anything that needs repair.
Can you work outside opening hours?
Yes. Evening and weekend work can be arranged, which suits shops that cannot close and streets that are quieter after hours.
Do you take the old sign away?
Yes. The panels, letters, brackets and fixings leave with us, and the area is tidied before we go.
