AI Chatbot Development Didsbury

Chatbots for Didsbury businesses fielding the same enquiries every evening after the phone has stopped being answered. We build on your own information so the replies match yours, and set clear rules for when a person has to take over.

The enquiries that arrive after closing

Restaurants and bars around Burton Road and School Lane get asked the same four things all week: are you open, have you a table, is there a vegetarian option, where do people park. Most of it arrives between seven and eleven at night, which is precisely when nobody can stop to answer. An enquiry left until the morning is usually a booking taken somewhere else.

Clinics, salons and therapists get a different set. Do you treat this, how long is the appointment, what happens at the first visit. Estate and letting agents get availability and viewing questions on properties they have already let. In all three cases the answers are stable, written down somewhere, and repeated endlessly by hand.

What makes an assistant worth having is that it answers from your material and admits when it does not know. That is the principle behind our AI chatbot development in Manchester, and the same team builds for Didsbury.

Putting one together

We start with what exists already: the site, the menu or price list, opening hours, the replies you send most. There is seldom anything to write from scratch. Building and testing are remote, and you try it on a private link before any customer sees it.

If you would rather work through it together, our Cheetham Hill office is open, or we will come to you, about 30 to 35 minutes down Wilmslow Road or the A5103. For a first conversation a call is usually enough.

The build, step by step

1

List the real questions

We read through your messages and work out what genuinely gets asked. Version one answers those properly rather than everything vaguely.

2

Collect the source

Hours, prices, treatments or menu, booking rules, terms. What goes in determines what comes out, so this is the part that matters.

3

Define the handover

Complaints, anything about an existing booking, anything uncertain. Those stop and go to a person with the conversation attached.

4

Try to break it

You and your staff ask the awkward real questions. We tighten the answers until it stops guessing at the edges.

5

Launch and review

It goes live, then we read the transcripts with you and find the questions you never knew were being asked.

What you get

  • An assistant answering only from your own hours, prices and terms
  • Agreed rules for when it stops and fetches a person
  • Enquiries emailed over with the whole conversation attached
  • Readable transcripts, so you can see what customers actually want
  • A simple way to update answers when hours or prices change
  • A written list of what it will not attempt

Worth having, and not worth having

It is worth having where the same factual question arrives constantly and the alternative is silence until morning. For a restaurant that is hours, tables and dietary options. For a clinic it is what a treatment involves and how to book. Answering those at nine in the evening is the whole return.

It is not worth having on complaints, on anything about an existing appointment, or anywhere a wrong answer costs money or trust. We will say so during the build, not after. Where the real problem is sorting and passing on enquiries rather than answering them, something from our wider AI work fits better, and an internal knowledge assistant suits teams who keep asking each other the same things.

Frequently asked questions

How do we stop it inventing an answer?

It replies only from the material you give it and is set to say it does not know rather than guess, then offer a person. During the build we deliberately ask things the source does not cover to confirm it behaves that way.

Can it take a booking, or only answer questions?

It can collect what a booking needs and pass it over, and where you already run a booking system it can point people straight at it. We usually keep the final confirmation with a person or the booking system itself.

Our menu changes weekly. Is that a problem?

No, as long as updating it is easy, which is how we set it up. Whoever changes the menu on your site can change what the assistant knows. Frequent changes are an argument for building it properly, not against building it.

What does it do with someone who is angry?

It stops and hands over. Complaints are explicitly outside what it attempts, and it is written to pass those to a person quickly rather than try to calm anyone down. You get the conversation so far with the handover.

Also in Chorlton, Cheadle and Stockport

We build these across south Manchester, so AI chatbot development in Chorlton, Cheadle and Stockport describe the same service. Our other local work is on the services in Didsbury page.

Tell us the questions you answer most often and we will show you how it would handle them. Ask for a quote, ring 0161 315 1151 or message 07737 902425.
