Glass on distribution sites and in town

Distribution and logistics buildings around Heywood usually have offices with glass screens looking over the warehouse floor, glass entrance doors for drivers and visitors, and meeting rooms with glazed walls. Busy people moving between offices and the floor can easily miss clear glass. Building Regulations guidance in England expects glass like this to be marked.

In the town centre, shops, cafes and clinics have glass doors and windows that may need marking or privacy film. Our glass manifestation Manchester page explains the guidance and options.

Measuring and fitting

Heywood is roughly 25 to 30 minutes from our M8 office via the M60 and M66 or through Middleton, depending on traffic. We measure every pane, check floor levels and door positions, and fit at a time that suits your site, including evenings, nights and weekends.

Offices overlooking the warehouse floor

Warehouse offices often have a long run of glass facing the floor. A frosted band with the company name at eye level makes the glass obvious, reduces distraction and keeps paperwork out of view, while clear glass above and below lets supervisors see what is happening. The usual zones for marking are between 850mm and 1000mm and between 1400mm and 1600mm from the floor.

Warehouse lighting can be harsh and uneven, so we pick film and patterns that stand out under it. A band that is clear in daylight can be harder to see in a dim corridor, and we check this on site.

Entrance doors used by drivers carrying paperwork or parcels need clear marking, ideally with a solid band rather than small dots. Glass side panels next to doors need marking too.

For shopfronts and showrooms, see window graphics and frosted vinyl, and shop signs Heywood for the outside of the building.

Good to know before we survey

  • Which doors and screens are used most
  • Any brand colours or fonts you want used
  • Rooms that need full privacy rather than a band
  • Site rules for contractors

In town centre shops and clinics, the job is usually smaller: a band with your name and opening hours on the entrance door, or frosted film on a treatment room window. These are quick to fit, often outside opening hours, and make a noticeable difference to how the front of the business looks.

Frequently asked questions

Can you fit film in our Heywood warehouse office during a night shift?

Yes. We can fit at night, in the evening or at a weekend to suit your site.

Will the film be visible under warehouse lighting?

We check the lighting on site and choose film and patterns that stand out under it.

Can room names go on the glass?

Yes. Room names and numbers can be part of the manifestation band.

Is frosted film permanent?

No. It sits on the glass and can be removed later.

Do you follow site inductions?

Yes. Send us your contractor rules and we will follow them.

How do we clean it?

Use a soft cloth and mild cleaner, and avoid blades and abrasive pads.
