Dentists, physiotherapists, accountants and other practices on Bury New Road often work in former shops with big windows onto a busy street. Clients need privacy, but the practice still needs to look open and welcoming. Frosted film does both: it blocks the view in, lets daylight through, and can carry your name so the window still works as a sign.

Measuring and fitting

Privacy that still looks welcoming

For a practice facing the street, a common layout is frosting from just above the floor to just above head height, with clear glass at the top to let in light, and the practice name cut out at eye level. From outside, people see a smart, branded window; from inside, staff and clients have privacy. If the frosting covers the zones between 850mm and 1000mm and between 1400mm and 1600mm from the floor, it also does the job of manifestation on glass doors.

Cafes and delis usually want the opposite: clear windows so people can see the counter and the food. A simple band or logo on the door with opening hours is often all they need.

Community spaces and halls often have glass doors used by children and older people. Solid, high-contrast bands are the safest choice there.

Old film left by previous tenants is common on Bury New Road shopfronts. We strip it, clean away the glue and fit the new film on clear glass, which gives a much neater finish than fitting over the top.
