Quick answers

What do I actually get when I order A-Frame Signs?

That depends on the Includes dropdown. Frame with 2 Posters gives you the A-board plus a printed poster for each face. Poster Only sends just the prints, for a frame you already own. Frame Only sends the empty stand. Our A-board signs Manchester page explains how local shops and cafes tend to use them.

Which sizes can I choose for an A-frame sign?

Two sizes are offered: A2 and A1. A1 is the larger of the pair and gives more room for a headline that needs reading from across the street, while A2 suits a narrower doorway or a busy stretch of pavement. For any other dimensions, send the measurements through Get a Quote and we will price it.

How much does an A-frame sign cost?

The starting price is £36.29, which is the cheapest combination of size and contents for one item. Picking a different size or adding the frame changes the total, and the configurator shows the live figure as you go. You can compare it with other pavement and shopfront options in the signage and boards range.

Can the two sides of the board carry different designs?

Yes. Set Number of Different Designs to 2 and you can supply a separate poster for each face, for example a menu on one side and an offer on the other. Leave it at 1 if both faces should match. If you are unsure how to split your message, get in touch with the team before ordering.

How long does an A-frame sign take to produce?

Allow around 4 working days for production. Treat it as a typical figure rather than a fixed date, and add delivery on top unless you are collecting. If you are planning a shop opening around the sign, place the order with a few days to spare. Places we regularly deliver to are listed on areas we cover.

Can I collect my A-frame sign in Manchester?

Yes. Collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB, which saves carrying a frame through the post. UK delivery is also available, with the cost shown at checkout. If you want a fixed sign above the shop as well, our sign makers in Manchester handle permanent signage.

I already have a frame. Can I order replacement posters only?

Yes, choose Poster Only in the Includes dropdown and pick the size that matches your existing frame, A2 or A1. This is the cheaper way to refresh a seasonal offer or a new menu. For a bigger pavement display in A0, have a look at Forecourt Pavement Stands.

Asked by buyers 22

Is A1 or A2 better for a shop doorway?

Measure the space first. A2 takes up less of the pavement, which helps outside a narrow shop or where pedestrians squeeze past. A1 gives a bigger canvas for larger text that can be read from further away. If your frontage needs something wider still, the shop signs Manchester service covers fascias and window signs.

Why would anyone order Frame Only?

Frame Only suits buyers who want a stand now and plan to print posters later, or who need a spare frame for a second entrance. You then order Poster Only whenever the message changes. If you would rather write the message by hand each day, Chalk Boards are the alternative in the same range.

Does Frame with 2 Posters mean one poster for each side?

Yes, an A-board has two faces, so the two posters cover the front and the back. Pair this with Number of Different Designs if you want the faces to differ. With 1 selected, both posters carry the same artwork, so people approaching from either direction see the same message.

Can an A-frame sign stand outside on the pavement?

Yes, that is how most are used, outside shops, cafes and salons to catch passing trade. Before you put one out, check with your local council whether pavement boards are permitted on that street, and leave room for wheelchairs and pushchairs. For signs pointing visitors around a site, see directional signs.

Can I use an A-board indoors as well?

Yes. They work well in shopping centre units, hotel lobbies, reception areas and event venues, where they guide visitors or announce what is on. Indoors you can move them around freely between rooms. For a lighter display that sits on a table or easel, see Foam Board Signs.

Should I bring the sign in at night or in high winds?

It is sensible to. A freestanding board on the pavement can be knocked or blown over, and taking it in after closing also keeps the posters clean for longer. The product page doesn't list weights or weather resistance figures, so ask the team if the board will stand somewhere very exposed.

What do 4 or 5 A-frame signs cost?

On the cheapest combination of options, 4 signs cost £72.62 and 5 signs also cost £72.62, so the fifth is worth adding if you might need it. Your own choice of size and contents sets the actual total, which the configurator displays live before checkout.

What is the price for 10 A-frame signs?

The cheapest combination for 10 comes to £108.94, and 8 come to £100.46. Those are starting points, as A1 and the frame options move the total. Set your size and contents in the dropdowns and the live price is shown straight away. It is useful for chains that want every branch to match.

Can I order more than 10 A-boards?

The Quantity dropdown stops at 10. For a larger rollout, such as a sign for every branch of a business, the team can price a bigger run separately. Fill in the quote form with the size, the contents you want and how many, and mention if the designs vary between sites.

What file should I send for an A-frame poster?

A print-ready PDF built at the size you selected, A2 or A1, is the safest choice. Keep important wording and logos away from the very edge so nothing is hidden by the frame. If you are sending two designs, label each file clearly. For help preparing large files, contact the studio.

Can you design the poster for my A-board?

Yes. Select the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) at the artwork step and the layout is created for you from your logo, wording and offer. It suits owners who don't have a designer. To keep your printed items consistent, matching flyer printing can use the same design.

How much text should go on a pavement sign?

Less than you think. People walking past read a headline, perhaps one offer and a direction, so keep it to a few words in large type with strong contrast. Leave detailed menus for inside. Our poster printing page has further layout ideas for printed displays that need reading at a distance.

How do I place an order for A-Frame Signs?

Choose the size, the Includes option, the number of designs and the quantity, and watch the price update. Next, pick your artwork route, add the item to the cart and pay at checkout. If you need other signage at the same time, browse the online print shop before paying.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Payment is taken by card at checkout through Stripe, which accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The total you see after setting every dropdown is what you pay for the signs, with delivery added at checkout. A business that wants to discuss a larger order first can use Get a Quote.

Who makes these signs?

They are produced to order in Manchester by WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED, trading since 2003 and helping over 20,000 UK businesses with print, signs and websites. Phone 0161 315 1151 or WhatsApp 07737 902425 with questions. Read more about Web Print Signs.

Can A-frame signs be delivered outside Greater Manchester?

Yes, UK-wide delivery is available. The delivery cost is calculated at checkout before you pay, so you can see it alongside the sign price. Buyers in Salford, Stockport, Bolton, Oldham and nearby towns can also collect from the Manchester studio if that is easier.

Where is the collection point?

Collection is from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. Picking up in person is handy for frames, as you can put the sign straight into the car. Contact the studio on 0161 315 1151 or hello@webprintsigns.co.uk to check your order is ready before you set off.

Do you work with businesses outside Manchester city centre?

Yes. The studio works with shops and venues across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, and posts orders throughout the UK. There is also a second studio at 20 Burnley Road, Brierfield BB9 5HS. Towns we cover are listed on the areas we cover page.

Is an A-board a good choice for a cafe?

Yes, it is one of the most common ways for a cafe to show a lunch deal or opening hours to people walking past. Printed posters suit a fixed offer that runs for weeks. For specials that change daily, a writable board works better, and our menu printing covers what goes on the tables.

Can I use an A-frame to point people to a side entrance?

Yes. Place the board where the main route splits and use a big arrow with a short line such as the business name and floor. Two different designs let each face point the right way for people coming from either side. Permanent wayfinding is covered by our directional signs Manchester service.

What pairs well with an A-board at an event?

An A-board at the entrance tells people where to go, and something taller helps them spot the venue from a distance. Feather flags add height outdoors, while Roller Banners work inside the room. Ordering them together keeps the branding consistent across the day.

Are A-frame signs useful for estate agents or open days?

Yes. A board outside a viewing, a school open day or a showroom launch shows visitors they are in the right place, and Poster Only lets you change the message for the next event. For bigger outdoor branding at the same site, compare PVC Banners.
