Quick answers

Which paper weight should I choose for letterheads?

There are three: 90gsm, 120gsm and 170gsm Premium Smooth White Paper, with 170gsm as standard. 90gsm and 120gsm are lighter and closer to everyday office paper, while 170gsm gives a heavier sheet. If you will feed them through an office printer, check what weight it accepts first. For matching second pages, see A4 Continuation Sheets.

How much do letterheads cost?

25 letterheads start at £36.00, 500 start at £71.59 and 1000 start at £102.31 on the cheapest paper and print choice. The configurator shows the live price as soon as you select paper, sides and quantity. For a run beyond 100000 sheets, request a quote.

What size are the letterheads?

They are A4, which is fixed on this page. That is the standard size for UK business letters, and a sheet folded in three fits a DL envelope. Printed Envelopes are on their own page. For any other size, describe what you need through Get a Quote.

How quickly can I get letterheads?

Around 3 working days is the typical production time. Add delivery time if they are being sent, or collect from our Manchester studio on Bury New Road. If you need them for a set date, such as a company launch, ask the team before ordering.

Can letterheads be printed on both sides?

Yes. Switch Sides Printed to Double Sided to add a design to the back, such as terms and conditions, a branch list or a brand pattern. Single Sided keeps the reverse blank for longer letters. More guidance is on our letterhead printing Manchester page.

Can you design a letterhead for me?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) at the artwork step and send your logo, company details and any registration information you need to show. The layout is set up for you. To match the look on other paperwork, see our corporate stationery sets.

Can I collect letterheads in Manchester?

Yes, collection is from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is also available, with the cost shown at checkout. If you are restocking the office, pick up Compliment Slips on the same visit.

Asked by buyers 22

Is 90gsm too thin for a letterhead?

Not necessarily. 90gsm Premium Smooth White Paper is the lightest of the three and close to standard copier paper, which suits letterheads you print letters onto in volume. If the sheet is meant to impress on first touch, 120gsm or 170gsm feels more substantial. Our letterheads in Manchester page talks through common choices.

What does Premium Smooth White mean?

It is the paper name used for all three weights here, and it describes a white sheet with a smooth surface. That suits crisp logos and clean text. The only paper decision you make on this page is the weight: 90gsm, 120gsm or 170gsm.

Is 120gsm a good middle ground?

Yes, 120gsm sits between the light 90gsm and the heavy 170gsm standard. It feels a step up from everyday paper without the stiffness of 170gsm. Compare the live price for each weight at your quantity before deciding. Other items in the stationery range can be matched to it.

Can I order A5 letterheads?

A4 is the only size on this page. If you need A5 sheets, or a smaller format for quick notes, the notepad printing service may suit better. You can also ask for an A5 letterhead price through Get a Quote with your quantity.

Should I add continuation sheets?

If your letters often run to a second page, yes. Continuation sheets usually carry a lighter version of the branding, often just the logo, so page two still looks like your company. Order them from A4 Continuation Sheets in the same paper weight.

What is the minimum letterhead order?

The Quantity dropdown starts at 25 letterheads and goes up through 50, 100, 250 and 500 to as many as 100000. Most offices order in hundreds or thousands, while a sole trader may only need a few hundred a year. Pick the step that covers your expected use.

How much are 5000 letterheads?

On the cheapest paper and print options, 5000 letterheads start at £250.10, and 10000 start at £452.93. Your paper weight and sides choice change the figure, so check the live total in the configurator. For large ongoing runs, talk to us about timing repeat orders.

Does 170gsm cost more than 90gsm?

Paper weight is one of the choices that moves the price, and the configurator shows the exact difference as soon as you switch. Set your quantity first, then flip between 90gsm, 120gsm and 170gsm to compare the totals side by side.

What should a letterhead include?

Most letterheads carry the company name, logo, address, phone, email and website. Limited companies in the UK usually add the registered name, company number, registered office and place of registration. Check your own requirements before you finalise the design. Our Manchester letterheads page has more ideas.

What file should I send for letterheads?

A print-ready PDF at A4 is the safest choice. Keep important text a sensible distance from the edges, and embed or outline your fonts so the layout prints as you designed it. Questions about your file can go through the contact page.

Can I reuse my business card design?

Yes. If you supply it, a print-ready letterhead can reuse the logo, colours and fonts from your cards. If you would rather have it adapted for you, the design service at +£36.00 lays it out to A4. For the cards themselves, see business cards Manchester.

Can I add a watermark or background design?

Yes, any design you supply, including a faint background pattern or a watermark-style image, can be printed across the sheet. Keep it light so typed text stays easy to read. If you want help getting the balance right, choose the Professional artwork and design service at the artwork step.

How do I order letterheads online?

Pick the Paper Type, then Sides Printed, then the Quantity; the price updates after each pick. Select whether you are supplying artwork or using the design service, add to cart and pay by card. Checkout runs on Stripe with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Add more from the print shop before paying.

Can I order letterheads for several branches?

Yes. If each branch has its own address, add a separate line for each design with its own artwork and quantity, then pay once. If every branch shares one sheet listing all addresses, one design and one quantity will do. Matching Envelopes help each branch keep its post consistent.

Do you deliver letterheads across the UK?

Yes. The delivery charge for your address is shown at checkout before you pay. Local customers can collect from the Bury New Road studio instead. Places we serve regularly, across Greater Manchester and beyond, are listed under areas we cover.

When can I pick up my letterheads?

Production is typically around 3 working days, so plan to collect after that from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. If you are short on time or travelling in specially, call 0161 315 1151 before setting off to check the order is ready.

Who uses printed letterheads?

Solicitors, estate agents, accountants, builders, schools and charities all send letters, quotes and invoices on branded paper. A letterhead makes even a simple letter look official. For quotes and invoices written by hand with copies, see Carbonless (NCR) Books.

Are letterheads still needed if I email most letters?

Many businesses still post contracts, formal notices and quotes, and a printed sheet carries weight with the person opening it. Your own design file can also be used as an email letterhead. For your online presence, see our business website design service.

Can I print invoices on letterheads?

Yes. Running invoices through an office printer onto a letterhead keeps them branded without a separate invoice book. Choose a weight your printer handles, often 90gsm or 120gsm. For handwritten invoices with copies, see invoice books.

What matches letterheads in a stationery set?

Compliment slips, envelopes, business cards and continuation sheets are the usual partners. Ordering them together keeps the colours and logo consistent across everything you send. Start with Compliment Slips and Envelopes, then add cards in the same design.

Can a new business order a short run first?

Yes. A run of 25 or 50 letterheads lets you check the design in use before committing to thousands. When you are ready to scale, larger quantities up to 100000 are in the dropdown. Our about page explains how we have helped businesses since 2003.

Do you print letterheads for clubs or societies?

Yes, anyone can order. Clubs, churches and community groups use letterheads for membership letters, fixture lists and fundraising appeals. For membership cards in the same style, see our membership card printing page.
