Quick answers

What paper are the greeting cards printed on?

You have three stocks to choose from: 300gsm Greetings Card Stock, 350gsm Art Board Silk Finish and 350gsm Recycled Uncoated. The first is made for cards, the silk board gives a smooth sheen for photos and bright artwork, and the recycled uncoated stock has a natural, writable surface. For extra fold and finish choices, compare Premium Greeting Cards.

Which finished sizes can I choose for greeting cards?

Five sizes are listed: Square 148mm x 148mm, 1/3 A4 (DL) Portrait, A5 Landscape, A5 Portrait and A6 Portrait. A6 suits thank-you notes, A5 gives more room for artwork, and DL makes a slim, elegant card. Need a size that is not listed? Use Get a Quote.

Do the greeting cards come with envelopes?

The Add Envelopes dropdown offers 155mm Square, DL, C5 and C6, and a second dropdown sets the Envelope Colour to White or Red. Match the envelope to your card size: C6 for A6, C5 for A5, DL for the DL card and 155mm Square for the square card. For branded business envelopes, see Envelopes.

What is the price of printed greeting cards?

Greeting cards start at £54.48 for 25 on the cheapest combination of paper, size, lamination and envelopes. A run of 100 starts at £62.42. Your exact total updates live in the configurator as you change options, and nothing is charged until checkout. Browse similar items in Cards & Invitations.

How soon will my greeting cards be ready?

Greeting cards typically take around 3 working days to produce. Treat that as a guide and add delivery time unless you collect. For seasonal cards with a posting deadline, tell us your date before you place the order.

Can artists sell their own designs as greeting cards?

Yes, many illustrators and photographers print their work as cards to sell at fairs, in galleries and online. Order from 25 cards per design to test which images sell. If you want to sell the cards online, our ecommerce website design service can set up the shop.

Can you design a greeting card for my business?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service for £36.00 at the artwork step and a designer will create the card layout for you. Supplying your own print-ready artwork is free. Our greeting card printing Manchester page explains more about the service.

Asked by buyers 22

Should I choose a portrait or landscape card?

Portrait is the classic card format and stands well on a shelf or mantelpiece. A5 Landscape suits wide photos, panoramas and group shots. Let the artwork decide: lay out your main image in both orientations and pick the one that crops least. The DL and A6 sizes are portrait only on this product.

Is the square greeting card a good option?

Square 148mm x 148mm cards look modern and suit illustrations, patterns and Instagram-style photos. Pair them with the 155mm Square envelope. Square formats also work for wedding thank-yous. For square invitations to go with them, see Invitations.

Why would I pick the 1/3 A4 (DL) card?

The DL Portrait card is tall and slim, which suits typographic designs, botanical artwork and corporate thank-you cards. It fits a DL envelope, the same size used for many business letters. If you need a branded DL envelope for other mail, our envelope printing Manchester service can help.

Should my envelopes be white or red?

White is the safe all-year choice and lets a colourful card speak for itself. Red adds impact for Christmas, Valentine's Day and celebration cards. You choose the colour separately from the envelope size, so any of the four envelope sizes can be ordered in either colour.

When should I add gloss lamination?

One Side (Gloss) adds shine to the outside of the card, which brings out photos and saturated colour. Choose None if you want a natural feel or plan to write on every surface, particularly on the 350gsm Recycled Uncoated stock. Gloss is a one-side option only, so the inside stays unlaminated.

Which paper is easiest to write on?

Uncoated paper takes pen ink well, so the 350gsm Recycled Uncoated stock is a sensible pick if the cards will be handwritten. The 300gsm Greetings Card Stock is also designed for card use. A silk finish board is smoother, so test your pen if you choose that. For cards with a Kraft option, look at Premium Greeting Cards.

Is 350gsm Art Board Silk Finish good for photographs?

Yes, the smooth silk surface is a common choice for photographic and detailed artwork, as it shows colour and fine detail clearly. Adding One Side (Gloss) increases the shine further. For a larger print of the same photo, our Heavyweight Art Prints are worth a look.

What is the lowest number of greeting cards I can order?

The minimum is 25 cards, which suits a family event, a personal Christmas card or a trial run of a new design. The quantity dropdown steps up through 50, 75, 100 and on to 2000. On the cheapest combination, 2000 cards come to £220.80.

Do envelopes change the price of the order?

Every option, including envelope size and colour, feeds into the live total. Switch between the envelope choices in the configurator to see the difference for your quantity. For orders outside the listed quantities, or cards with unusual envelopes, request a price through Get a Quote.

Can I order a range of different card designs?

Each item in the cart is one design, so an artist with six designs would add six separate items, each with its own quantity. That lets you order more of your best seller and fewer of the rest. For a large range priced together, get in touch with the list.

How should I set up my greeting card artwork?

Export a print-ready PDF at the finished size you have chosen, with the front, back and inside pages laid out in order. Keep text and faces away from the trim edges. If you are not sure about page order, phone 0161 315 1151 and someone will explain it before you upload.

Can I add a personal message inside the card?

Yes, the inside is part of the artwork, so you can print a greeting, a company message or a signature. Leave white space if you also want to add a handwritten note. Corporate senders often print the company name inside and sign each card by hand.

Can I turn my company logo into a Christmas card?

Yes. Many businesses send a branded seasonal card to clients with the logo on the back and a festive design on the front. The design service at £36.00 can create it for you. For matching seasonal print, our calendar printing Manchester page covers branded calendars.

How do I buy greeting cards on the website?

Select paper type, lamination, envelope size, envelope colour, finished size and quantity, and the price updates with each choice. Choose an artwork option, add the cards to your cart and pay by card at checkout. Stripe accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Can I order greeting cards alongside other print?

Yes, add the cards to your cart and carry on shopping for other items before checking out in one payment. The shop lists the full print range, from flyers to banners, so you can combine an order for an event or a launch.

Can greeting cards be delivered to my home?

Yes, UK delivery is available to home or business addresses, and the cost is shown at checkout. If you live near north Manchester, you can collect from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. See the areas we cover for local towns.

How do I arrange collection of my cards?

Collection is from our Manchester studio on Bury New Road. Call 0161 315 1151 or send a WhatsApp to 07737 902425 before you travel to make sure the cards are ready. Production typically takes around 3 working days from order.

Are greeting cards useful for small shops and cafes?

Yes. A card rack by the till sells local artwork and adds a little extra income, and branded thank-you cards slipped into orders bring customers back. For cards that reward repeat visits, see our loyalty card printing service.

Can I use greeting cards as thank-you notes for online orders?

A printed A6 card in each parcel is a simple way to thank a customer and ask them to come back. Print a discount code or your social handle inside. For the boxes they go in, the Custom Mailer Boxes can carry the same branding.

Do greeting cards work for weddings and christenings?

They do, mainly as thank-you cards after the day, often with a favourite photo on the front. Choose Square or A6 for a neat card that is easy to post. For the invitations before the event, our invitation printing Manchester page has more.

Can charities and schools print greeting cards to raise funds?

Yes. A card featuring children's artwork or a local scene can be sold to families and supporters. Start with a modest quantity and reorder once you know demand. For fundraising events, our event ticket printing service can supply the tickets too.

Is recycled card available for greeting cards?

Yes, 350gsm Recycled Uncoated is one of the three paper types. It gives the cards a natural, uncoated feel and suits brands that want recycled stock. Combine it with no lamination for the most natural finish. For recycled business cards to match, see Recycled Business Cards.
