Quick answers

Which board materials can I choose for foam board signs?

The Substrate dropdown lists ten boards, including Compact Pressboard 1.6mm (the standard choice), KAPA tex 5mm, KAPA plast 5mm, Honeycomb Cardboard 10mm, Doublewall E+E Flute 2.3mm, and clear or opal polycarbonate in 3mm and 5mm. Our foam board printing Manchester page covers how these displays are typically used.

What sizes are foam board signs available in?

Seven sizes are listed: A4, A3, A2, A1, 500 x 700mm, 700 x 1000mm and 20x30". That spans a counter card up to a large presentation board. For a size outside that list, request a price with your exact measurements through Get a Quote.

What is the minimum order for foam board signs?

The Quantity dropdown starts at 25 and goes up in steps to 1000. That makes this product best suited to multi-store promotions, events and campaigns that need many identical boards. For just one or two printed boards, Rigid Boards can be ordered from a single unit.

How much do foam board signs cost?

Prices start at £213.14, the cheapest combination of size, board and varnish for 25 signs. Larger sizes and premium boards such as polycarbonate move the total, and the configurator shows the live price for whatever you select. Compare other boards in the signage range if you are weighing up options.

Are foam board signs printed on both sides?

No, these are printed on one side only, as Sides Printed is fixed at Single Sided. That suits boards that sit against a wall, on an easel or in a window facing one way. If you need print front and back, Rigid Boards offer a Double Sided option.

What is the turnaround on foam board signs?

Production typically takes around 3 working days. Treat that as a guide, and add delivery time if you are not collecting from Manchester. If boards are needed for a launch or exhibition on a fixed date, talk to the team before you order so the timing can be checked.

Should I add the scratch resistant gloss protection?

The Varnish dropdown offers None or Scratch resistant gloss protection. The varnish adds a gloss coat that helps protect the printed face when boards are handled, moved between venues or packed after events. Use None for short-lived displays. For larger event graphics, see our exhibition graphics service.

What is Compact Pressboard 1.6mm?

It is the standard specification on this page and the thinnest board in the list, at 1.6mm. It works well for lightweight promotional boards that sit on shelves or easels. For something thicker and stiffer, choose one of the 5mm or 10mm options. If you are unsure which to pick, ask the studio.

When would I pick a polycarbonate board?

Polycarbonate comes in Clear and Opal, each at 3mm or 5mm. Clear suits displays where you want a see-through look, such as a window or glass partition, while Opal gives a frosted appearance. Both cost more than card-based boards, and the configurator shows the difference live as you switch.

What are Honeycomb Cardboard and Doublewall E+E Flute used for?

Both are card-based boards. Honeycomb Cardboard 10mm is one of the thickest options in the list, giving a chunky look, and Doublewall E+E Flute 2.3mm is a slimmer fluted card. They suit temporary retail and event displays. For more material comparisons, browse the foam board printing page.

How do KAPA tex and KAPA plast differ?

Both are 5mm KAPA boards on the Substrate list. The product page doesn't describe the difference between them in detail, so if surface finish or rigidity matters for your display, check before ordering. Send your use case through Get a Quote and the team will advise on the best fit.

Which size should I choose for an easel display?

A1 and 500 x 700mm are popular for easels at events and receptions, as they are easy to read from a few metres away. 700 x 1000mm gives the biggest board on offer. A4 and A3 are better for counters and shelves.

Can I order boards in mixed sizes?

Each cart line uses one size, one board and one varnish setting. To mix, add each size as a separate item with its own quantity, starting at 25 per line. For a short run of assorted sizes in smaller numbers, Foamex Strut Cards or Rigid Boards may suit better.

Is 20x30" the same as A2?

No. 20x30" is an inch-based size of about 508 x 762mm, which is larger than A2. It is handy if you already own frames or easels made to inch sizes. Measure your stands before choosing, and see our foam board printing page for typical display setups.

Are foam board signs suitable for outdoor use?

They are aimed at temporary indoor displays, such as in-store promotions, presentations and exhibition stands. For signs that will face the weather, look at the outdoor-ready options in the range, such as Rigid Boards in Di-Bond or Correx, or ask our sign makers about permanent outdoor signage.

Can I hang foam board signs in a shop window?

Yes, a single-sided board facing out through the glass is a common use, and clear polycarbonate can look neat against glazing. Keep in mind only one side is printed. For graphics applied directly to the glass, see our window graphics service.

What do 50 foam board signs cost?

On the cheapest combination, 50 signs come to £352.44 and 100 signs come to £631.03. Your choice of size, substrate and varnish sets the real total, and the configurator shows it live. Larger runs reduce the price per board, which helps for multi-branch campaigns.

What is the price for 1000 boards?

The cheapest combination for 1000 signs is £5,645.52, which suits nationwide retail campaigns. Bigger sizes and premium materials will increase that figure. For a quantity between the listed steps, or above 1000, send the details through the quote form.

Does the varnish add to the cost?

The price refreshes whenever you change any dropdown, including Varnish, so you can see the effect of adding the gloss protection straight away. Set the size and board first, then toggle between None and Scratch resistant gloss protection to compare the two totals before adding to cart.

What artwork should I supply?

A print-ready PDF at the finished size you selected is the safest choice, for example A1 or 700 x 1000mm. Keep text and logos back from the edges and use high-resolution images, as boards are viewed close up. Only one side is printed, so you need one design per order line.

Can you design the boards for a promotion?

Yes. Add the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) and send your logo, wording and any product images. The layout is built for the size you chose. To carry the same promotion onto handouts, see our leaflet printing service.

Can each board in a run have a different design?

Each cart line carries one design across its whole quantity. If you need several versions, add them as separate lines, keeping in mind that each line starts at 25. For a run of varied designs in lower numbers, contact the team to talk through the options.

How do I order foam board signs?

Choose the size, substrate, varnish and quantity, and the price updates with each choice. Pick your artwork option, add the boards to your cart and pay at checkout with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. Other display items can be added from the print shop in the same order.

Is there a company I can speak to before ordering?

Yes. WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED has been producing print and signage in Manchester since 2003. You can call 0161 315 1151, message 07737 902425 on WhatsApp or email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk. Read more about Web Print Signs.

Can foam board signs be delivered nationwide?

Yes, they can be sent anywhere in the UK, and the delivery cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Customers in Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Prestwich, Eccles and the rest of Greater Manchester can also collect. See the areas we cover for nearby towns.

Where do I collect my boards?

Collection is from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. For larger runs, or the 700 x 1000mm size, bring a vehicle with enough flat space so the boards stay unbent on the way back. Call 0161 315 1151 first to check your order is ready.

What are foam board signs good for in retail?

Shops use them for seasonal offers, new product launches and in-store wayfinding, often rolled out across several branches at once. A1 boards near the entrance catch attention, while A4 and A3 sit on shelves. Our point of sale printing service covers the wider in-store display.

Can I use foam boards at a trade show?

Yes. Exhibitors use them for price lists, product information and seating plans on easels or table tops around the stand. For the stand backdrop itself, look at trade show display printing or Roller Banners.

Are foam boards suitable for weddings and events?

Yes, welcome boards, seating plans and order-of-the-day signs on easels are typical uses. Note that the minimum order is 25, which suits a venue or planner ordering a set rather than a single board. For one-off event signs, compare Rigid Boards.
