Quick answers

Which foil colours can I have on my swing tags?

Five foils are offered: Silver, Copper, Red, Gold and Green, each listed as Single Sided. That means the foil goes on one face of the tag while the print can still cover both sides if you choose Double Sided. If you want foil on a card that goes in a wallet rather than on a product, see Metallic Foil Business Cards.

What card are foiled swing tags printed on?

Every tag uses 400gsm Art Board Silk Finish, which is fixed for this product. On top of that you choose a Matt Soft Touch laminate, either single sided or double sided, before the foil is applied. If you would prefer Kraft or Linen card without foil, the standard Swing Tags offer those materials.

What do foiled swing tags cost?

Prices begin at £91.08 for 50 tags on the cheapest mix of options. The jump to 200 tags is modest, with the cheapest combination at £100.49, so a slightly bigger run often makes sense. The configurator shows the live price as you change size, sides, laminate, foil and corners. For quantities above 1000, use Get a Quote.

What sizes are the foiled tags?

You can choose 55mm x 55mm, a neat square, or 85mm x 55mm, which gives a longer face for a brand name plus a line of copy. Both can be ordered with Square Corners or Rounded Corners. For other dimensions or shapes, browse the full cards and tags category or ask for a custom quote.

How long does it take to make foiled swing tags?

The typical turnaround is around 5 working days. That figure is a guide, so build in delivery time if you are not collecting. For a product launch or a trade show date, speak to the team before you order.

Who are foiled swing tags designed for?

Clothing labels, jewellery makers, candle and soap brands, and anyone selling higher-value goods where the tag shapes the first impression. A flash of gold or copper on a soft touch card makes a product look considered. Our hang tag printing Manchester page covers the wider tag service.

Can someone design the foil artwork for me?

Yes. Select the Professional artwork and design service at the artwork step for £36.00 and a designer will prepare the layout, including which parts of the design take the foil. Supplying your own print-ready artwork costs nothing extra. For questions about setting up a foil layer yourself, contact us.

Asked by buyers 22

Should I pick 55mm x 55mm or 85mm x 55mm?

The square 55mm x 55mm suits a logo-led tag with very little text, such as a monogram or a single foiled word. The 85mm x 55mm gives you a business-card shaped face with room for a product name, a short line and a web address. Lay both out on screen at true size and see which keeps the foil readable.

Rounded Corners or Square Corners: which suits a luxury tag?

Square Corners give a crisp, tailored look that suits minimal fashion branding. Rounded Corners soften the tag and are kinder on fabric when it swings against a garment. Both are available on either size. The luxury business cards page shows how the same finishes work on cards if you want a matching set.

Do I need the tag printed on both sides?

Double Sided lets you put the brand and foil on the front, with price, size, care notes or a story on the back. Single Sided is enough if the tag only carries a logo. Remember that the foil options are single sided, so plan the design with the foiled face as the front. For a care-label style tag without foil, the plain Swing Tags also come double sided.

What is the difference between the two laminate choices?

Matt Soft Touch Single Sided coats one face of the card, while Matt Soft Touch Double Sided coats both. Double sided gives the whole tag the same feel in the hand, which suits a tag that customers turn over to read. Both are laminates rather than a different card, as the material stays at 400gsm Art Board Silk Finish.

Which foil works on a dark tag design?

Gold, Silver and Copper tend to show strongly against dark backgrounds such as black, navy or deep green. Red and Green foils work well where you want a seasonal or brand-colour accent. If you cannot decide, order a short run of 50 in one foil before committing to a bigger quantity. The cards and tags range shows the other finishes available.

Can I use two foil colours on one tag?

The configurator takes one Special Finish per order, so each tag carries a single foil colour. If your brand needs two foils, or foil on both faces, request a price through Get a Quote with a sketch or file showing where each foil should sit.

How fine can the foiled details be?

Bold shapes, thicker lines and larger lettering foil most cleanly. Very thin hairlines and tiny type are best printed in ink rather than foil. If your logo has fine details, keep the foil to the main mark and print the small text normally. The design service at £36.00 can make that split for you.

How do I mark which parts of the design are foiled?

The usual approach is a separate layer or file showing only the foiled area in a solid colour, matching the print artwork exactly in size and position. Set the file at the finished tag size and export it as a print-ready PDF. If that sounds unfamiliar, phone 0161 315 1151 and someone will explain what to send.

Should the swing tag match my business cards?

It helps. When the tag, the card in the bag and the website share the same colours and foil, the brand feels joined up. Our business cards Manchester service can produce cards in the same style, and a matching foil on both makes the link obvious.

What is the cheapest way to try foiled tags?

Start with 50 tags, the lowest quantity, and keep options simple. Try single and double sided printing and both laminates, and watch how the live price changes with each switch. Once the design is proven on your products, step up to a larger run.

How many foiled tags can I order at once?

The dropdown runs from 50 through 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500 and 750 up to 1000. On the cheapest combination, 1000 tags come to £183.05. For seasonal collections needing more than that, or several designs in one run, request a price through Get a Quote.

Does the foil colour change the price?

The configurator recalculates the total whenever you change any option, including the Special Finish, so the clearest way to compare is to switch between foils and watch the live figure. Size, sides and laminate also move the price. Nothing is charged until you check out.

How do I order foiled swing tags online?

Work down the dropdowns: size, sides printed, laminate, foil, tag style and quantity. The price refreshes with each choice. Choose whether you are supplying artwork or using the design service, add the tags to your cart and pay by card through Stripe, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Can I see other tag and card products before deciding?

Yes. The shop lists every print product, and the tag range includes plain swing tags and bottle neck tags as well as the foiled version. Comparing them side by side helps you decide whether foil is worth it for this product line.

Can I collect foiled tags from the Manchester studio?

Yes, collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. If you would rather receive them by post, UK delivery is offered and the charge shows at checkout. Check the areas we cover to see where we work locally.

Are foiled swing tags sent across the UK?

They are. Choose delivery at checkout and the cost is shown before payment, so there are no surprises. Allow for the typical 5 working day production time first, then the delivery time. For anything time-sensitive, email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk with your date.

Do jewellery makers use foiled tags?

Yes, the 55mm x 55mm size in particular suits earrings, rings and bracelets displayed on a card or hung in a box. A gold or silver foil echoes the metal of the piece. For gift packaging, the Pillow Boxes make a neat partner for a foiled tag.

Can foiled tags be used on gifts and hampers?

They work well on hampers, gift bags and seasonal boxes, where a copper or red foil gives a festive touch. Print the recipient or company name on the back for corporate gifting. Our custom printed bags service covers the bags they hang from.

Are foiled swing tags suitable for candles and cosmetics?

Yes. Candle, soap and skincare brands use them to add a premium cue to otherwise simple packaging. Use the back of a Double Sided tag for scent notes or ingredients. For labels that stick to the jar itself, see product label printing.

Does a foiled tag suit a clothing label launch?

A new label benefits from a tag that looks finished from day one, and foil on soft touch card does that. Keep the logo foiled and the size or price printed on the back. When you are ready to sell online, our ecommerce website design team can build the shop.

Do foiled tags come with a hole or string?

The configurator options cover size, sides, laminate, foil, corner style and quantity, and do not list a hole or attachment. If you need the tags drilled or supplied with string or ribbon, ask before ordering so the right finish can be confirmed for your products.
