Quick answers

What are magnetic vinyl signs printed on?

They are printed on 900µ Magnetic Sheeting, the fixed material for this product, and cut with square edges. The magnetic backing lets you put the sign on and take it off a steel surface without adhesive. Our magnetic vehicle signs Manchester page explains how tradespeople use them on vans and cars.

Which sizes can I order?

Three sizes are listed: A4, A3 and A2. A4 suits a door sign or a narrow panel, A3 is a common size for car doors, and A2 gives a large panel on a van side. If you need a different size or a shaped sign, request a price through Get a Quote.

How much do magnetic vinyl signs cost?

The starting price is £75.94, and on the cheapest combination that same figure covers anything from 1 to 8 signs. The configurator shows the live price for the size you pick before you add to cart. Other removable branding is covered on our car magnet printing page.

Can magnetic signs go on my van or car?

Yes, that is the most common use. The magnet grips steel body panels, so check yours first with a fridge magnet, as aluminium and plastic panels won't hold it. Put the sign on a clean, flat area. For permanent branding instead, see our van graphics service.

How long do magnetic signs take to make?

Allow around 5 working days for production. That is a typical figure rather than a fixed date, with delivery added on top unless you collect. If the signs are needed for a new vehicle on a set day, talk to the team before ordering.

Can the signs be cut to the shape of my logo?

Not on this product. Profile Cut is set to No and the Cut Shape is Square cut edges, so every sign is a rectangle. If a shaped outline is important, describe it on the quote form and the team will look at a custom option.

Can I collect magnetic signs in Manchester?

Yes, collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is also offered, with the cost shown at checkout before you pay. For a wider set of vehicle branding while you are there, look at vehicle lettering.

Asked by buyers 22

What does 900µ mean on the magnetic sheeting?

The µ stands for microns, so 900µ describes the thickness of the magnetic sheet, a little under a millimetre. It is the only material offered on this page. If you need a different thickness for a particular job, ask the studio and the team will advise.

Will a magnetic sign stick to any surface?

No, it only holds on steel or other magnetic metal. Car and van panels are often steel, as are filing cabinets, metal doors and some shop fittings. Glass, wood, aluminium and plastic won't hold it. For signs that stick to glass, see window sticker printing.

Why choose a magnet rather than vinyl lettering?

A magnet comes off in seconds, so you can use the vehicle privately at weekends, move the sign to a new van or swap a seasonal offer. Vinyl lettering is permanent and can be shaped and sized to the vehicle. Our partial vehicle wraps page covers the fixed route.

Is A3 or A2 better for a van door?

Measure the flat area of the door between handles, mouldings and curves before you decide. A2 gives more room on a large van side, while A3 fits most car doors and smaller vans. The magnet needs full contact with the panel, so pick a size that sits entirely on a flat section.

Do I need one sign per side of the vehicle?

Usually yes, as people see each side separately. Order a quantity of 2 for both front doors, or more if you are also branding the rear. Check the live price for a pair before ordering a single sign. Our fleet branding service covers whole fleets.

Do magnetic signs come with rounded corners?

No, the cut is fixed as Square cut edges and no profile cutting is available here. If a shaped outline matters for your branding, cut vinyl may suit better, and our vehicle decals service covers shaped graphics.

Can I leave a magnetic sign on while driving?

Many drivers do, but place it on a clean, dry, flat steel panel so the whole sign is in contact. Check it is still secure before each journey, and remove it before going through a car wash. The magnetic printing Manchester page has more on everyday use.

How should I look after a vehicle magnet?

Take it off now and then to clean and dry both the panel and the back of the magnet, which stops dirt and moisture building up underneath. Store it flat when not in use rather than rolled or folded. Avoid putting it over fresh paintwork or across panel joins.

Can I use magnetic signs indoors?

Yes, on any steel surface such as a metal door, a whiteboard frame, a filing cabinet or a fridge in a commercial kitchen. Shops sometimes use them for changeable notices on metal fixtures. For rigid indoor signs instead, see Foamex Strut Cards.

What do 9 or 10 magnetic signs cost?

On the cheapest combination, 9 signs cost £81.36 and so do 10, with the same figure holding up to 16. That makes it good value to order spares or a set for several vehicles at once. The configurator shows the live price for the size you choose.

How much are 50 magnetic signs?

The cheapest combination for 50 signs is £220.49, and 100 signs come to £417.31. A larger size will change those figures, so check the live price after selecting it. For fleets needing more than 250, send the numbers through Get a Quote.

Why does the price stay the same for several quantities?

The live figures are set so that a smaller quantity never costs more than a larger one, so several quantities can share the same price. It means you can round up to the top of a band and get extra signs for the same total. Check the configurator to see where each step falls.

What should go on a van magnet?

Keep it to your business name, trade, phone number and website, in large type that can be read from a car behind you. Strong contrast matters more than detail. To keep your branding consistent, our business cards can carry the same design.

What file format should I supply?

A print-ready PDF at the size you picked, A4, A3 or A2, is the safest option. Keep text a little way in from the edges, as the sign is cut square to that size. If you only have a logo as a photo or screenshot, contact the team for advice.

Can you design my vehicle magnet?

Yes. Add the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) at the artwork step and send your logo and contact details. The layout is set up to suit the size you ordered. Website details on the magnet work best when the site itself is up to date, and our web design team can help.

How do I order magnetic vinyl signs?

Pick the size and quantity and the price updates live. Choose whether to supply your own artwork or use the design service, add to cart and pay by card at checkout through Stripe, which accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Other print can be added from the online shop.

Who makes the signs?

WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED in Manchester, a print, signs and web company working since 2003 that also handles vehicle graphics. Reach the team on 0161 315 1151 or hello@webprintsigns.co.uk. Read more about Web Print Signs.

Do you deliver magnetic signs nationwide?

Yes. Signs can be delivered anywhere in the UK, with the delivery cost shown at checkout before payment. Tradespeople in Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and across Greater Manchester can also collect from the studio. Towns we cover are listed under areas we cover.

Can I collect on the way to a job?

Yes, collection is from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. Message 07737 902425 on WhatsApp to check your signs are ready, so you don't make a wasted trip. You can then fit them to the vehicle as soon as you get back to it.

Who uses magnetic vinyl signs most?

Tradespeople, mobile hairdressers, cleaners, driving instructors and delivery drivers who use a personal vehicle for work. The sign comes off when the working day ends. For a business with several vans, our promotional vehicle branding page covers bigger projects.

Can I use a magnet for a temporary promotion?

Yes. A shop or market trader can put an offer on a metal shutter, a steel door or a delivery van for a few weeks, then swap it for the next campaign. Matching printed flyers help spread the same offer to customers.

Is a magnetic sign a good first step before a full van wrap?

It can be. A magnet lets you test your branding and phone number on the road for a modest outlay, and you can move it to a new vehicle. When you are ready for something permanent, our van wraps Manchester service handles full coverage.
