Quick answers

What sizes are crest flags available in?

Three flag sizes are listed: 2.6m, 4 m and 4.9m. There is also a Base Only (no flag) option if you just need a spare base. The 2.6m size is easy to place by a shop doorway, while the taller sizes stand out on a forecourt or roadside. For a different outline in similar sizes, see Feather Flags.

Which base should I pick for my crest flag?

It depends on the ground. For grass or soft earth, the Standard Ground Spike or Budget Ground Spike go into the soil. On hard surfaces, look at the Large Cross Base, Small Square Base, Concrete Base or one of the two water bases. The Drive on Car Base sits under a vehicle wheel. Unsure which suits your site? Ask the team.

How much does a crest flag cost?

A single crest flag starts at £48.77 on the cheapest combination of size, print and base. 10 flags start at £210.65. The live price changes as you pick the size, sides printed and base, so set every dropdown to see your exact total. Bulk runs and custom requests can be priced through Get a Quote.

How long do crest flags take to produce?

Typical production is around 5 working days. Treat it as a guide, and allow extra time for delivery unless you plan to collect from Manchester. If the flags are for a launch or event on a set date, order with a margin, and look through the display range for other items to send in the same order.

Should I choose single or double sided print?

Single Sided Print is the standard specification. Choose Double Sided Print when people approach from both directions, such as on a pavement or beside a road, so both faces carry your printed design. The Sides Printed dropdown also has a None setting, which goes with orders that need no printing, such as Base Only (no flag). For a rounded shape, compare Teardrop Flags.

Can I collect crest flags from your studio?

Yes, collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is the other route, with its cost shown at checkout before payment. If you are coming into Manchester anyway, other display items can be picked up on the same trip; browse the print shop to add them to one order.

Can you design my crest flag artwork?

Yes. Pick the Professional artwork and design service at the artwork step, priced at +£36.00, and a designer lays out the flag using your logo and message. Tall, narrow flags read best with a short message and a bold logo. To supply your own file instead, use the free print-ready option. The same branding can later go on promotional products.

Asked by buyers 22

Is the 4.9m crest flag too tall for a shop front?

That depends on the space and anything overhanging the door. The 4.9m size is the tallest listed and works best on open ground, such as a forecourt or event field. Directly outside a shop door, the 2.6m size is easier to place. Measure the clear height before you choose, and see A board signs for a pavement-level option.

What does Base Only (no flag) mean?

It lets you order a base without a printed flag, which is useful if you need a spare or want to replace a broken one. The Sides Printed dropdown includes a None setting that goes with it. For help matching a new base to a flag you already own, contact the team with details of your current kit.

Is the crest shape fixed?

Yes, the shape on this page is fixed as Crest, so every flag in the order has that outline. If you want a different shape, the roller banners and display category lists the feather and teardrop versions. Mixing shapes across a site is fine, as long as the colours and logo stay consistent.

Can I order different heights in one go?

Yes. Add each height to the cart as a separate item, for example a 4.9m flag for the roadside and two 2.6m flags by the entrance. Each line has its own base and print choice. Mixing heights is a simple way to give a forecourt some depth. For fixed signs on the same site, see our directional signs service.

Is the pole included with a crest flag?

The dropdowns cover size, sides printed and base, and the page does not list the pole as a separate item. If you need to confirm exactly what arrives with each flag, email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk or call 0161 315 1151 before ordering, and the team will tell you what the kit contains.

When is a water base the right choice?

Water bases suit hard ground where a spike cannot go in, such as paving or tarmac, and spots where you may need to move the flag. Two are listed, Small Water Base and Large Water Base. It makes sense to pick the larger one for the taller flags or more exposed spots. For a solid sign in the same place, look at Forecourt Pavement Stands.

What is the Drive on Car Base for?

As the name says, it is made to sit under a parked vehicle's wheel, so the weight of the car holds the flag upright beside it. That suits car dealerships, which use crest flags to draw attention to a forecourt from the road. For graphics on the vehicles themselves, see our car graphics service.

Should I choose the Concrete Base or the Large Cross Base?

Both are listed for hard ground, alongside the Small Square Base, but the page does not give their weights or footprints. If wind or floor space is a concern, call 0161 315 1151 and the team will help you pick between them. On very exposed fencing, a mesh banner is another way to get your message seen.

Do I need a base if I already have one?

No. Set the Base dropdown to None and the order goes ahead without a base. This keeps the cost down when you are replacing a worn print on an existing setup. Check your current kit will take the new flag first by sending photos to hello@webprintsigns.co.uk, so you know it fits before production starts.

How many crest flags can I order?

Anything from 1 to 10 one at a time, then 20, 30, 40, 50, 75 or 99. A dealership or retail chain can order a matching set across several sites in one go. For 100 or more, or a figure that falls between the steps, use the quote form and give the size and base you want.

Are crest flags cheaper per flag in bigger runs?

Yes. On the cheapest combination, 5 flags start at £120.72 and 20 start at £396.82, so the cost of each flag drops as the order grows. Your size, print and base choices set the actual total, shown live in the configurator. To dress a forecourt fully, pair the flags with PVC Banners on the railings.

Does the base change the price?

Yes, the base is one of the dropdowns that can move the total. Switch between bases on the product page to see the live difference before you add the flag to your cart. Pricing a large site with several base types? Request a quote with the full list and the team will cost it in one go.

What should go on a crest flag?

Keep it short: a logo, one or two words such as OPEN or SALE, and perhaps a web address. Flags are read from a distance and they move in the wind, so large lettering and strong contrast help. Put the most important element in the upper part of the flag. For longer messages, see our PVC banner printing page.

What file format should I upload for a crest flag?

A print-ready PDF made at the finished size of the flag is the safest choice. Keep text and logos away from the very edges and the pole side. If you are not sure how to set up the crest outline, our team can advise, or you can choose the design service at the artwork step.

Can different flags in one order carry different designs?

Yes, but each design needs its own cart line. Add one item per design with its own artwork, size and base. That way a 4 m roadside flag can show your brand while shorter ones near the door show offers. For a consistent look, keep fonts and colours the same across every version, as you would on Outdoor Posters.

How do I place an order for crest flags?

Set the size, sides printed, base and quantity in the dropdowns, and the price updates as you go. Choose to upload your own artwork or add the design service, then add the flags to your cart. Checkout runs on Stripe and takes Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Need signage for the same site? See the signage category.

Who produces the flags?

Your flags are produced in Manchester by WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED, which has been trading since 2003 and has helped over 20,000 UK businesses with print, signs and websites. Call 0161 315 1151 or message 07737 902425 on WhatsApp with any question, or read more about the company.

Can crest flags be sent anywhere in the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available, and you see the cost at checkout before you pay. Allow for delivery time on top of production if the flags are needed for a fixed date. Local customers can collect from the Manchester studio instead; the nearby towns we serve are on our areas we cover page.

Are crest flags good for car dealerships?

Yes. A row of tall crest flags along a forecourt pulls the eye from the road, and the Drive on Car Base lets you stand one beside a vehicle on display. Use the dealership logo or a seasonal offer. For branding on courtesy cars and vans, see our vehicle decals service.

Can property developers use crest flags?

Yes, they help at show homes and site entrances, guiding visitors in from the road. Ground spikes suit a grass verge, while a freestanding base suits a paved car park or sales area. Add Rigid Boards for plot details, opening times and the sales office number.

Do crest flags work at outdoor events?

They do. Organisers use them to mark entrances, sponsor areas and meeting points, and spikes go straight into a field. Choose Double Sided Print where crowds move in both directions. For a branded backdrop at the same event, see our event backdrop printing page.

How does a crest flag compare with a roller banner?

A crest flag stands tall outside, at the roadside, on a forecourt or on a field, while a roller banner is a pull-up stand mostly used indoors at shows and in reception areas. Plenty of businesses use one of each, with the same artwork on both. Compare the two by visiting Roller Banners.
