Quick answers

What materials can outdoor posters be printed on?

There are four: 120gsm Blueback (the standard specification), 150gsm Satin Poster Paper, 400gsm PVC Free and 440gsm PVC. The two paper options suit posters pasted or framed, while the PVC Free and PVC materials are heavier sheets for tougher spots. For a PVC-only range, see Waterproof Posters.

Which sizes can I choose?

Eight sizes are listed: A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0, 20 x 30 inches and 30 x 40 inches. Pick the inch sizes when your frame or case is measured in inches, and A0 is the largest A-size. For hoarding-scale formats, our Billboard Posters offer 4, 6, 48 and 96 Sheet sizes.

What is the starting price for outdoor posters?

One poster starts at £22.70 on the cheapest combination of size and material. Ten come to £26.81 on that same basis, so extra copies add very little. The configurator shows the live price for whatever size and material you pick. Compare the wider posters and art prints range for other formats.

Can I order a single outdoor poster?

Yes, quantities start at 1, then run one at a time to 20 and in larger steps up to 99. That suits one sign for a pub door as well as a set for a street campaign. For more than 99 posters, send the details through Get a Quote.

How long will my outdoor posters take?

Production is typically around 3 working days. Use that as a guide rather than a fixed date, and allow for delivery if you are not collecting. If posters are tied to an event date, talk to us before you order so the timing can be checked.

Can someone design my outdoor poster?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) and a designer will lay out the poster from your brief. If you already have finished artwork, the print-ready option is free. Our poster printing in Manchester page explains more about how poster jobs run.

Where can I collect outdoor posters?

Collect from our studio at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB, or choose UK delivery, with the cost shown at checkout before you pay. Promoters in the city often collect to get posters up quickly. Our areas we cover page lists the towns we serve.

Asked by buyers 22

Should I choose 440gsm PVC or 400gsm PVC Free?

Both are the heavyweight options on this page. 440gsm PVC is the heavier of the two, while 400gsm PVC Free suits buyers who would rather avoid PVC in the material. If you want the material choice limited to just those two, our Waterproof Posters page focuses on them.

When is 120gsm Blueback the right material?

Blueback is the standard specification here and the usual pick for posters pasted onto boards, walls and hoardings for a campaign. Compare its live price against the other materials when you need many copies. For a poster that will hang loose or face wind and rain for longer, a PVC or PVC Free sheet is the sturdier choice.

What is 150gsm Satin Poster Paper used for outdoors?

Satin poster paper suits posters going behind glass, for example in a lockable poster case, a bus-stop style frame or a cinema display. The frame protects it from the weather. Pair it with the 20 x 30 inches or 30 x 40 inches size for standard display cases.

Which size suits an A-board or pavement sign?

Measure the poster window on your A-board, as many take A1 or A2 posters. Slide-in boards suit lighter paper, while PVC copes better if the poster is exposed. If you need the A-board itself as well, see our A board signs service.

Are the inch sizes the same as A-sizes?

No. 20 x 30 inches and 30 x 40 inches are separate formats from the A-series, with different proportions. Choose them when your frame or poster case is built to those dimensions. Set your artwork up at the exact size you order, or the image may be cropped.

Can I order outdoor posters bigger than A0?

A0 and 30 x 40 inches are the largest options here. For bigger outdoor pieces, consider Billboard Posters for sheet formats or a printed banner for fencing and walls. A custom size can also be priced through Get a Quote.

Why does 99 posters cost more per sheet than 90?

The cheapest combination for 99 posters is £86.18, a bigger jump from 90 than the earlier steps. Prices do not move in a straight line, so if you need around 90 to 99, check both figures in the dropdown. Sometimes rounding to a different quantity gives better value.

How does the material affect the price?

The paper materials and the PVC materials sit at different price points, and the size multiplies that difference. Set your size and quantity, then switch the Material dropdown to compare in real time. For large or unusual runs, ask for a figure via Get a Quote.

Can I mix sizes in one campaign?

Yes. Add each size to your cart as its own line with its own material and quantity. A typical mix is A0 or A1 for main sites, A3 for shop windows and A4 for noticeboards. If you also want flyers in the same design, add them from our flyer printing range.

What makes an outdoor poster easy to read?

Big, bold headline text, strong contrast and very few words. People walking or driving past give a poster a few seconds, so lead with the event or offer, then the date and place. A QR code or short web address works better than a long URL. Need help with the layout? Ask our designers.

What file should I upload for an outdoor poster?

A print-ready PDF at the exact size you are ordering is the safest choice. Use high-resolution images, especially for A0 and the inch sizes, where low-quality pictures show up quickly. If you only have a logo and some text, the design service can build the poster for you.

Can I order the same design on paper and PVC?

Yes, add the design twice with a different material on each cart line. That is useful when some posters go into frames and others go up on exposed fences. Make sure each line has the size you want, as the material choice does not change the dimensions.

How do I order outdoor posters?

Pick the size, material and quantity, and the price updates live. Choose your artwork option, add the posters to your cart and pay by card at checkout. Stripe handles payment, accepting Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. More products are in the online print shop.

Who prints the posters?

WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED in Manchester, which also makes shop signs, vehicle graphics and websites. We have worked with local businesses since 2003. If your poster campaign is part of a wider launch, our sign makers can handle permanent signage too.

Can posters be delivered to an event venue?

Yes. Enter the venue address at checkout and the delivery cost shows before you pay. Make sure someone at the venue knows a parcel is coming. For local events, collecting from our Manchester studio avoids any handover problems.

Do you deliver outdoor posters across Greater Manchester?

Yes, and across the rest of the UK. Delivery is chosen at checkout with the price shown before payment. Customers in Bolton, Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and the city centre often collect instead; see the areas we cover.

Who uses outdoor posters?

Pubs announcing match nights, theatres promoting shows, shops advertising sales and promoters covering a gig. They are a low-cost way to reach people on the street. For posters you hand out rather than put up, see our leaflet printing service.

Can outdoor posters go on fences and railings?

Yes, with permission from the owner. Choose 440gsm PVC or 400gsm PVC Free for posters cable-tied to fences, since a heavier sheet is a sounder choice than paper for a loose fixing. For a longer message across a fence, a banner may suit better; see PVC Banners.

Are outdoor posters good for a property or construction site?

Yes, for site notices, coming-soon messages and agent contact details on hoardings. Use PVC or PVC Free where the poster is exposed. For larger branded hoarding panels and directional signs, our directional signs service covers fixed signage.

Can I use outdoor posters inside as well?

Yes. Nothing stops you putting them up indoors, and satin paper looks smart in frames. If all your posters are going inside, though, our Indoor Posters page offers twelve papers and much larger quantities, which can work out cheaper for big runs.

Can outdoor posters replace a shop sign?

They work well as a temporary fix, for example while a new fascia is being made or during a pop-up. For anything permanent, a fitted sign will last much longer. Our shop signs team in Manchester can quote for one.

Do outdoor posters suit a market stall?

Yes. An A2 or A1 poster on PVC or PVC Free can be cable-tied to the front of a stall and reused week after week. Smaller A3 or A4 posters work as price boards. Add matching price tags to keep the stall looking consistent.
