Quick answers

What are plastic business cards made from?

They are printed on white PVC, in a choice of 760mic White PVC or 570mic White PVC. 760mic is the standard specification and the thicker of the two. Businesses pick plastic when they want a card that lasts longer than paper board. To compare paper-based options, browse the business cards category.

How much do plastic business cards cost?

The lowest price is £131.69 for 25 cards on the cheapest combination of options. Material, sides, strips, magnetic settings and foil all change the total, and the configurator updates the live price with each choice. For quantities or specifications not in the dropdowns, use Get a Quote.

How long do plastic cards take to make?

Plan for around 11 working days of production, which is longer than the paper cards in the range. Treat it as a typical time rather than a fixed date, and add delivery unless you collect. If you have a launch date, talk to the team before ordering.

Can plastic cards have a magnetic strip?

Yes. The Magnetic Strip dropdown offers Yes landscape, Yes portrait or None, and Magnetic Properties lets you choose Lo Co, Hi Co or None. Match the strip direction to the card orientation you pick. For membership schemes that use strips, see our membership card printing page.

Can customers sign the back of the card?

Yes, if you add a signature strip. The Signature Strip dropdown has Yes landscape, Yes portrait and None, so the panel can follow either card orientation. It is useful for membership, loyalty and ID-style cards. Our loyalty card printing page covers similar schemes.

Can plastic business cards be printed portrait?

Yes. The Size dropdown includes 86mm x 54mm Landscape and 54mm x 86mm Portrait, so you can lay the card out either way. Pick the orientation first, then set any strips to match it. Ideas for upright and horizontal layouts are on our business cards Manchester page.

Can I collect plastic cards in Manchester?

Yes, collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. You can also have them sent to a UK address, with the delivery cost displayed at checkout. See areas we cover for the towns we work with most often.

What is the difference between 760mic and 570mic White PVC?

The figure is the thickness of the plastic, so 760mic White PVC is thicker than 570mic White PVC. 760mic is the standard choice on this page. If you are unsure which thickness suits your scheme, the team can advise. Check the live price for each, as material is one of the settings that moves the total.

Why choose plastic over a paper business card?

Plastic is chosen for durability and a distinctive feel, which matters when a card is kept and carried for a long time rather than read once. It suits membership, loyalty and trade cards. If you want a heavy paper card instead, compare Triplex Business Cards.

Can I add gold or silver foil to a plastic card?

Yes. The Special Finish dropdown offers Gold Foil Single Sided and Silver Foil Single Sided, as well as None. The foil appears on one face only. If foil is the main feature you are after, Metallic Foil Business Cards offer red and copper as well.

Are the cards printed on one side or both?

You choose. The Sides Printed dropdown has Double Sided and Single Sided, and the standard specification is Single Sided. Double Sided gives space for terms, a strip panel or instructions on the reverse. The price updates as soon as you change the setting.

Can I order plastic cards in a custom shape or size?

Not on this page, where the sizes are 86mm x 54mm Landscape and 54mm x 86mm Portrait. If you need something different, such as a key fob or a larger card, describe it on the quote form and the team will look at it.

Should I choose Lo Co or Hi Co?

Lo Co and Hi Co are the two types of magnetic stripe offered, and the right one depends on the card reader or system your cards will be used with. Check with whoever supplies your till, door entry or membership system before ordering. Choose None if no strip is needed.

Do you encode data onto the magnetic strip?

The product page covers the strip and its type, not encoding or numbering. If your cards need data, numbering or barcodes, contact the team with the details before you order so they can tell you what is possible for your scheme.

Does the strip have to match the card orientation?

It should. Both the Magnetic Strip and Signature Strip dropdowns come in landscape and portrait versions, so a portrait card should use the portrait strip settings. Getting this right keeps the strip in the expected position for readers and signatures.

Can I have a signature strip without a magnetic strip?

Yes. The two are separate dropdowns, so you can set Signature Strip to Yes and Magnetic Strip to None. That works for loyalty or membership cards that are signed but not swiped. Many clubs and gyms take this route; see membership card printing for more.

What quantities are available?

The Quantity dropdown lists 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 7500 and 10000 cards. Small runs suit a team of staff, while the larger quantities suit membership and loyalty schemes. For anything above 10000, request a price through Get a Quote.

What do 100 or 500 plastic cards cost?

On the cheapest combination of options, 100 cards cost £194.66 and 500 cost £405.00. Strips, magnetic properties, foil and double sided print each change the figure, so treat those as starting prices and check the configurator once your specification is set.

How does the price look for large loyalty schemes?

Larger runs bring the cost per card down considerably. On the cheapest setup, 1000 cards are £652.42 and 10000 are £3,249.36. If you are planning a scheme across several branches, it is worth comparing a single large run against several smaller ones.

What artwork do I need for a plastic card?

A print-ready PDF at the size and orientation you selected is the safest choice. Leave the areas for any magnetic or signature strip clear of important text. If you are not sure where the strips sit, ask the team before you finalise the design.

Can you design a plastic membership or staff card?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) and the card is laid out for you, including space for strips if you have selected them. Send your logo, wording and any scheme details. If the brand itself needs updating, see Logo and Brand Refresh.

How do I order plastic business cards?

Set Size, Material, Sides Printed, Magnetic Properties, Magnetic Strip, Signature Strip, Special Finish and Quantity, watching the price change as you go. Then choose your artwork option, add to cart and pay by card at checkout through Stripe, with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay accepted.

Can I order different designs in one go?

Yes, add each design to your cart as its own item with its own artwork and options. That suits staff cards with different names, or separate tiers of a membership scheme. Everything is paid together at checkout. Extra items can be added from the online print shop before you pay.

Do you deliver plastic cards outside Greater Manchester?

Yes, delivery is available anywhere in the UK, and the charge is shown at checkout before you confirm. Customers nearby can collect instead, and the towns we serve are listed under areas we cover. Bear in mind that plastic cards take longer to produce than paper ones, so order early for a launch.

Who is behind Web Print Signs?

Which businesses use plastic business cards?

Hospitality venues, construction firms and creative businesses use them when they want contact details to last and stand out. Gyms, clubs and salons use the same cards for membership and loyalty. Trades who hand cards out on site often prefer plastic too; see business cards Manchester for other options.

Can plastic cards work as gift or discount cards?

They can. A plastic card with your branding, and a magnetic or signature strip if needed, makes a sturdy discount or gift card for regular customers. For paper vouchers handed out at the counter, see our gift voucher printing page.

What goes well with plastic staff cards?

Lanyards are an obvious partner for staff and event cards worn on site or at a venue. Matching branding on both keeps the look consistent. See Lanyards and Custom Lanyards with Safety Clip for options.

Are plastic cards suitable for an event or festival pass?

They can work well as a reusable pass for staff, crew or guests. Portrait layouts suit lanyard wear, while landscape suits wallets. For printed admission tickets, see our event ticket printing page.
