Quick answers

What is an A4 continuation sheet used for?

A continuation sheet is the second and every following page of a letter, report or proposal. It carries a lighter version of your branding, so page two still looks like it came from the same business as page one. Most firms order them alongside Letterheads, which hold the full address block for the opening page.

Which paper weights can I choose for continuation sheets?

The Paper Type dropdown lists 90gsm, 120gsm and 170gsm Premium Smooth White Paper. Match the weight to the letterhead you pair them with, so a multi-page document feels the same in the hand from start to finish. If you need a stock outside these three, request a quote and describe what you have in mind.

What is the difference between Blank and Single Sided continuation sheets?

The Continuation Sheet dropdown has two settings: Blank Continuation Sheet and Single Sided Continuation Sheet. Single Sided means your design is printed on one side of each sheet. If you are unsure which setting fits the documents you send, ask our team before ordering and they will explain how each one is produced.

How much do A4 continuation sheets cost?

25 sheets start at £28.70, the cheapest combination of options for that quantity. The cost per sheet falls as the run grows, and 500 sheets start at £56.21. The configurator shows the live price for whatever paper and setting you pick. Browse the rest of our business stationery to price a matching set.

How long does it take to print continuation sheets?

Typical turnaround is around 3 working days once your order and artwork are in. Treat that as a guide rather than a fixed date, and allow for delivery on top if the sheets are being sent to you. Collection from our Manchester studio is also possible, and the about page explains where we are based.

Can I order continuation sheets with matching letterheads and envelopes?

Yes. Each item has its own product page, so add Letterheads and Envelopes to the same cart and pay once at checkout. Use one artwork style across all three so the colours and logo position line up when the pieces go out together in the post.

Do I have to supply my own artwork for continuation sheets?

No, though you can. Supplying print-ready artwork is free, or pick the Professional artwork and design service for +£36.00 and a designer builds the layout for you. A print-ready PDF at A4 is the safest file to send. For help getting a file ready, get in touch with the studio.

Asked by buyers 22

Is 90gsm a sensible weight for continuation sheets?

90gsm Premium Smooth White Paper is the lightest of the three weights and a common pick for letters that run to several pages. If your letterhead is on a heavier stock, choose the same weight here so the pages match when stapled together. You can compare weights across our stationery range before deciding.

When would 170gsm make more sense?

170gsm Premium Smooth White Paper is the heaviest choice in the dropdown. Firms often pick it for proposals, tenders and reports handed over in person, where a weightier page makes a better impression. It pairs well with a presentation folder, and Glued Folders give the finished document something to sit in.

Will the sheets go through my office printer?

Paper handling varies from one office printer to the next, so check which weights your machine accepts before you choose. Many offices type the letter body onto continuation sheets after they arrive. If that is your plan, test a lighter weight first or ask us which of the three Premium Smooth White Paper options people usually run through desktop printers.

Can I get continuation sheets on coloured or textured paper?

Not from this page. All three weights are Premium Smooth White Paper, so the sheet is smooth and white whichever gsm you pick, and any colour comes from your printed design. For a different paper, send the details through Get a Quote and the team will come back to you.

Are continuation sheets only available in A4?

Yes, this product is A4 only, which matches the standard UK letter size and lines up with A4 letterheads. Shorter notes that do not need a full sheet suit a 1/3 A4 (DL) slip instead, and Compliment Slips come in that size with the same three paper weights.

Can continuation sheets be printed on both sides?

The options on this page are Blank Continuation Sheet and Single Sided Continuation Sheet, so double-sided printing is not listed. If your documents need a design on the reverse, such as terms or a footer, describe the layout through our quote form and the team will price it.

What should a continuation sheet design include?

Most carry a smaller logo at the top and sometimes a thin footer with the company name or registration details, leaving more room for text than the first page. Think of it as a quieter version of your letterhead. Our letterhead printing page shows how the two sheets work as a pair.

What is the smallest number of continuation sheets I can order?

The Quantity dropdown starts at 25 sheets and runs all the way to 20000. A run of 25 is handy for testing a new layout or for a sole trader who only sends the occasional long letter. The price updates as you move through quantities, so compare runs before adding to your cart. See the full shop for other products.

How does the price compare at 1000 sheets?

1000 sheets start at £89.66 on the cheapest combination, against £56.21 for 500 sheets, so doubling the run costs far less than double. Changing the Paper Type can move the figure, and the configurator shows the live total as you choose. For runs beyond 20000 sheets, speak to the team on 0161 315 1151.

Should I order the same quantity as my letterheads?

Not necessarily. A letter uses one letterhead but may need several continuation sheets, so firms that send long reports often order more continuation sheets than headed paper. Look at how many pages your typical document runs to before you choose. You can price both side by side on the Letterheads page.

How do I place an order for continuation sheets?

Choose a Paper Type, a Continuation Sheet setting and a quantity, and the price updates as you go. Then pick your artwork option, add the item to your cart and pay by card at checkout. Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted through Stripe. Our corporate stationery page lists other pieces to add.

Can I order a quantity that is not in the dropdown, such as 300?

The dropdown lists set steps, including 250 and 500, so 300 is not offered directly. Choosing the next step up gives you spare sheets for later letters. If you need an exact figure for a mailing or a fixed print run, ask through the contact page and the team will advise.

Which payment methods can I use?

Website orders are paid by card at checkout, processed by Stripe. Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay are all accepted, and payment is taken when you place the order. If your organisation needs to discuss a different arrangement for a larger job, phone 0161 315 1151 or email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk before ordering.

What file should I send for my continuation sheets?

A print-ready PDF at the finished A4 size is the safest choice. Keep your logo and any footer text away from the page edges, and embed the fonts so the type prints as intended. If your design currently lives in a Word template, export it to PDF first and check the layout has not shifted before you upload it.

Is the £36.00 design service worth it for a continuation sheet?

It makes sense if you only have a logo and want the sheet set up to match your letterhead. Adding the Professional artwork and design service for +£36.00 means a designer lays out the page instead of you supplying a finished file. Mention any existing stationery when you order. Our letterheads in Manchester page covers the first-page side.

Can the continuation sheet match an existing letterhead?

Yes. Supply artwork built from your letterhead file, or choose the design service and send a copy of your current letterhead for reference. Reusing the same logo file, colours and fonts keeps every page of a long document consistent. Matching compliment slips are covered on our compliment slips Manchester page.

Can I collect continuation sheets in person?

Yes. Collection is available from our studio at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB, which suits offices around the city centre, Salford and Prestwich. Choose collection at checkout instead of delivery. Allow around 3 working days for printing before you travel. More about the business is on the about page.

Do you send continuation sheets outside Manchester?

Yes. UK delivery is available, and the cost appears at checkout before you pay, based on your order and address. Sheets go out once printed, so allow for printing time and then delivery time when planning a mailing. Our areas we cover page lists the towns we work with most often.

Who usually orders continuation sheets?

Professional services firms, charities and larger organisations are the main buyers, along with anyone who sends letters or reports longer than a single page. Solicitors, accountants and consultants get through them quickly. For short covering notes that do not need a full letter, pair them with Compliment Slips.

Can continuation sheets be used for reports and proposals?

Yes. A branded continuation sheet keeps your name visible on every page of a proposal, quote or report, not just the cover. For documents you hand over in person, file the finished pages in a printed folder, and presentation folder printing covers that side of the job.

What else makes up a full business stationery set?

Most sets start with letterheads, continuation sheets, compliment slips and envelopes, then add business cards. Printing them all from one artwork style keeps everything consistent on a client's desk. For the cards, see our business cards in Manchester service, which works from the same logo files.

Can you also build a website that matches my stationery?

Yes. WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED also builds websites, so the logo and colours on your letters can carry across to your site. That consistency helps clients recognise you whether they open an envelope or a browser tab. See web design in Manchester for how a project runs.
