Quick answers

What size are your compliment slips?

Every slip is 1/3 A4, usually called DL. That is a third of an A4 sheet, the same footprint as an A4 letter folded into three, so a slip sits neatly on top of folded paperwork. The size is fixed on this page; for other formats look across the business stationery range.

Which paper should I pick for compliment slips?

The standard specification is 90gsm Premium Smooth White Paper, with 120gsm and 170gsm Premium Smooth White Paper also in the Paper Type dropdown. Pick the same weight as your headed paper if you want the slip and letter to feel like a pair. You can check the weights offered on our Letterheads page.

Can compliment slips be printed on both sides?

Yes. The Sides Printed dropdown offers Single Sided and Double Sided. The back is handy for a short list of services, opening hours, social handles or a thank-you line, while the front holds your logo and contact details. For more layout ideas, see our compliment slips Manchester page.

How much do compliment slips cost?

25 slips start at £30.60, the cheapest combination of paper and sides for that quantity. Bigger runs drop the unit cost sharply: 1000 slips start at £53.18. The configurator shows the live price for the options you pick, and a custom quote covers anything outside the dropdowns.

How quickly will my compliment slips be ready?

Typical turnaround is around 3 working days. Read that as a guide rather than a promise, and add delivery time if you are not collecting. If the slips are needed for an office opening or a mailing with a fixed date, speak to the team before you place the order.

Can I collect compliment slips in Manchester?

Yes, collection is available from our studio at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is offered as well, with the cost shown at checkout before you pay. Our compliment slips in Manchester page covers the local service in more detail.

Can you design my compliment slip for me?

Yes. At the artwork step, choose the Professional artwork and design service for +£36.00 and a designer will lay out the slip, or supply your own print-ready file for free. If you already have headed paper, send it as a reference so the slip matches. Questions about files can go through our contact page.

Why is 90gsm the standard paper for slips?

90gsm Premium Smooth White Paper is the standard specification for this product and the lightest weight in the dropdown. Slips usually travel inside envelopes and parcels, so a lighter sheet keeps the bulk down. Step up to 120gsm or 170gsm for something firmer. The corporate stationery page explains how weights are matched across a set.

Does a 170gsm slip feel more like a card?

It is the heaviest of the three Premium Smooth White Paper weights, so it feels firmer in the hand than 90gsm. It suits slips that go into product packaging or gift orders, where the slip is seen on its own rather than tucked behind a letter. For a folded card with a message inside, look at greeting card printing.

Can I get compliment slips on coloured paper?

Not on this page. All three weights are Premium Smooth White Paper, so colour comes from your printed design rather than the stock. A full-colour logo or a coloured band along the top gives a white slip plenty of character. For a coloured or specialist paper, send the details through Get a Quote.

Can I order A5 or A6 compliment slips?

This page is set to 1/3 A4 (DL) only, which is the usual size for compliment slips in the UK. If you need a larger sheet, A4 headed paper is on the Letterheads page. For any other size, describe the dimensions you need through the quote form and the team will price it.

Does Double Sided cost more than Single Sided?

Switching the Sides Printed option updates the price in the configurator, so you can see the difference for your quantity straight away. The from-prices quoted on this page are the cheapest combination of options. Single Sided is the simpler choice when you have nothing to put on the reverse. Price the rest of a set in our shop.

Can a compliment slip have a tear-off section?

Perforation is not one of the options here; the dropdowns cover paper type, sides printed and quantity. If you want a tear-off reply strip or a cut-out voucher, describe it through our quote form and the team will tell you what is possible and what it costs.

What size envelope fits a compliment slip?

A 1/3 A4 (DL) slip fits a DL (220 x 110mm) envelope, which is one of the sizes on our Envelopes page. It also goes into a larger C5 or C4 envelope alongside other paperwork. If you post slips on their own, order DL envelopes with the same logo so the pair look planned.

How many compliment slips can I order at once?

The Quantity dropdown runs from 25 up to 100000 slips, with steps such as 250, 2500 and 10000 along the way. Most offices order a few hundred to a few thousand, depending on how much post and how many parcels they send. Every listed quantity is priced live, so you can compare runs before adding to your cart.

What do 5000 compliment slips cost?

5000 slips start at £91.92 on the cheapest combination of options. Compare that with 2500 slips, which start at £78.65, and the bigger run works out far cheaper per slip. The configurator shows the live price once you choose paper and sides. Busy offices often order A4 Continuation Sheets at the same time.

Is it worth ordering a big batch of slips?

If your logo and contact details are settled, yes, because the cost per slip falls as quantities rise. If your phone number, address or team is likely to change soon, a shorter run avoids throwing away out-of-date stock. Check every detail carefully before ordering. Our about page explains who you are dealing with.

What details should go on a compliment slip?

Most slips carry the logo, the words With Compliments, the business name, address, phone number, email and website. Leave the lower part clear for a handwritten note. Registered company details can sit in a footer if your headed paper already shows them. See letterhead printing for matching the two.

What file format works best for slips?

A print-ready PDF at the finished 1/3 A4 (DL) size is the safest choice. Keep text away from the trimmed edges and use a high-resolution or vector version of your logo. If you only have an image or a Word document, the design service can rebuild the layout, or contact us for advice on preparing it.

Should my slip use the same design as my letterhead?

That is the usual approach. Use the same logo position, colours and fonts so the slip reads as a shorter version of the letterhead. If you choose the design service at +£36.00, mention your existing stationery so the designer can match it. Our letterheads in Manchester page covers the full-page version.

How do I order compliment slips online?

Pick a Paper Type, choose Single Sided or Double Sided, and select a quantity; the price updates live as you go. Choose an artwork option, add the slips to your cart and pay by card at checkout. Stripe handles Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Need more than slips? Browse the shop first.

Can I order slips together with other stationery?

Yes. Add each product to the same cart and check out once. A common set is letterheads, compliment slips, envelopes and business cards, all printed from one artwork style so they match on a client's desk. The cards are covered by our business cards Manchester service.

Can I reorder the same slips later?

Yes. Order again from this page with the same Paper Type and Sides Printed choices, and upload your print-ready file again. Prices follow the live configurator on the day you reorder. If any detail has changed, such as a new phone number, update the artwork first so the new batch is correct. Call 0161 315 1151 if you have questions.

Can compliment slips be delivered across the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available and the cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Allow around 3 working days for printing, then add delivery time. Businesses in Greater Manchester can collect from the studio instead. Our areas we cover page lists the towns we work with most.

Where is the collection point for slips?

Orders are collected from Manchester, at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB, north of the city centre. WPS also has a second studio at 20 Burnley Road, Brierfield BB9 5HS. Phone 0161 315 1151 or message 07737 902425 on WhatsApp before you travel. More about the business is on the about page.

What are compliment slips actually used for?

They go out with anything that does not need a full letter: invoices, brochures, samples, returned documents and online orders. A short handwritten note on a branded slip feels more personal than an unsigned printout. For larger marketing pieces that go in the same envelope, look at brochure insert printing.

Are compliment slips useful for online shops?

Yes. A slip in each parcel gives the customer your web address and a thank-you in one go. Use the reverse of a Double Sided slip for returns information or a code for their next order. For branded boxes to put the slip in, see custom packaging boxes.

Are compliment slips still worth having if most of my work is by email?

If you post anything at all, yes. Contracts, samples, gifts and paperwork returned to clients still go out by hand or by post, and a slip saves writing a full letter each time. They also suit trade counters and receptions. Our web design team can make sure the website printed on the slip is worth visiting.

Do compliment slips suit charities and schools?

Yes. Charities send them with receipts and thank-you packs, and schools tuck them in with forms going home. The Double Sided option leaves room for donation details or term dates on the back. For receipts with carbonless copies, see Carbonless (NCR) Books.
