Quick answers

Which paper should I choose for a creased menu?

There are three stocks: 250gsm Art Paper Gloss Finish, 250gsm Art Paper Silk Finish and 350gsm Art Board Silk Finish. The 250gsm gloss is the standard specification. Go for the 350gsm board when you want a stiffer menu that stands up to more handling. For a menu that can be wiped down, compare our Waterproof Menus.

What fold options are available for creased menus?

The Folding dropdown lists twelve options, including Gate Creased to A5 (Flat), Z Creased to 6pp 1/3 A4 (Flat), Roll Creased to 6pp 1/3 A3 (Flat), 1 Crease to 4pp A4 (Flat) and Creased to A6. Each describes the crease pattern and the panel size it produces. Our menu printing Manchester page explains how venues use different layouts.

How much do creased menus cost?

Prices start at £58.54 for 50 menus on the cheapest combination of size, paper, fold and lamination. A run of 500 starts at £125.86 on the same basis. Every dropdown you change can move the total, and the live price on the page always reflects your choices. For quantities above 2000 or a custom fold, use Get a Quote.

Are creased menus laminated?

Yes. The Lamination dropdown offers Both Sides (Gloss) and Both Sides (Matt), so every menu in this range is laminated on the front and back. Gloss gives a shinier, more vivid look, while matt reads more calmly under bright lighting. For laminated leaflets that aren't menus, see Folded & Laminated Leaflets.

How long do creased menus take?

Typical production is around 5 working days from order. That figure is a guide, not a fixed promise, and delivery comes on top if you are not collecting from Manchester. If a reopening or new season menu needs to be on tables by a set date, speak to us before ordering.

What sizes are creased menus printed in?

The Size dropdown covers A5, A4 and A3. The size you choose is the flat sheet, and the fold then sets the size of each panel, so an A4 sheet with 1 Crease to 4pp A5 (Flat) gives a folded A5 menu. Browse the menus and hospitality range for other formats.

Can I collect creased menus instead of paying for delivery?

Yes, collection is available from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is also available, and its cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Check where we work if you are planning a pick-up.

Asked by buyers 22

Is 250gsm silk or 250gsm gloss better for a menu?

Both are the same weight, so the difference is the surface. Gloss gives food photos more punch, while silk has a softer sheen that is easier to read under spotlights. With lamination on both sides either way, pick the one that suits your branding. If you want to see the wider choice of folded print, look at Flat & Creased Leaflets.

When is the 350gsm Art Board Silk Finish worth it?

Choose it when menus are handed round many times a day or need to stand open on a table. The heavier board feels more substantial in the hand and holds a fold firmly. For a quick-service counter where menus are rarely held, the 250gsm stocks are usually enough.

Should I choose gloss or matt lamination?

Gloss lamination makes colours look brighter and gives a shiny surface. Matt lamination cuts glare, which helps in venues with strong overhead lights or candlelit tables. Both cover the front and back of the sheet. If your menu has lots of text, matt is often the easier read.

Can I order a creased menu without lamination?

Not on this product. The Lamination dropdown only offers Both Sides (Gloss) and Both Sides (Matt). If you want unlaminated folded print, for a takeaway menu for example, the Folded Leaflets page has other options.

What is the difference between a gate crease and a roll crease?

A gate crease folds two outer panels inwards so they meet in the middle, like a pair of doors. A roll crease folds the panels one inside another, so the menu rolls up into a neat stack. Gate folds suit a big reveal of mains inside; roll folds suit menus read in order, such as starters, mains and desserts.

What does Z Creased to 6pp 1/3 A4 (Flat) mean?

The flat sheet is A4 and it is creased twice in a zig-zag, giving six pages, three on each side, each one third of A4 wide. It opens like a concertina, which makes it handy for drinks lists or a short tasting menu. There is also an A3 version for more content per panel.

Which fold gives a classic four-page menu?

A single crease gives four pages: front cover, two inside pages and a back. Choose 1 Crease to 4pp A4 (Flat) for a folded A4 menu or 1 Crease to 4pp A5 (Flat) for a folded A5 one. It is the simplest layout for a lunch menu with specials on the back. For a single card on the table instead, see Tent Cards.

Which fold suits a long drinks list?

The tall options work well: 1 crease to 105mm x 297mm (flat) and 1 crease to 74mm x 210mm (flat) produce narrow menus that slide neatly into a holder. For more space, a roll or Z crease on A3 gives six panels. A bar may also want matching Beer Mat Printing to carry the same branding.

How many creased menus can I order at once?

The Quantity dropdown runs from 50 up to 2000, with steps at 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500 and 1000. A single restaurant often orders 100 or 200, while groups and takeaways go higher. Beyond 2000, request pricing through our quote form.

How much do 2000 creased menus cost?

On the cheapest combination of options, 2000 creased menus come to £306.10. Heavier board, a larger sheet or a more complex fold may raise that, so set your choices in the dropdowns to see the exact live figure. Larger runs bring the cost per menu down considerably compared with 50 or 100.

Is it cheaper to order more menus than I need?

Often the jump to the next quantity costs relatively little, so a few spares can be good value for replacing stained or worn menus. Weigh that against how often your dishes and prices change. If you update monthly, ordering what you will use before the next change is usually wiser.

How should I set up artwork for a folded menu?

Supply a print-ready PDF at the flat size, with the panels laid out in the right order for the fold you picked. Keep text clear of the crease lines and use high-resolution images. Panel order catches many people out on gate and roll folds, so if you are unsure, ask our team before you upload.

Can you lay out my menu if I send the dishes and prices?

Yes. Choose Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) and a designer will build the menu from your text, logo and any photos you have. Choose the print-ready option, which is free, if your files are finished. Branding that matches your signage helps, and our shop signs team can carry the look outside.

How do I keep a menu readable?

Group dishes into clear sections, keep descriptions short and give prices their own column. Allow plenty of white space and avoid tiny text, especially on narrow panels. If allergen information is needed, give it a consistent spot on every page so staff and guests know where to look. More layout pointers sit on our menu printing page.

What are the steps to order creased menus?

Pick the size, paper type, folding, lamination and quantity, and the price updates as you go. Select an artwork option, add the menus to your cart and pay by card at checkout through Stripe. Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted.

Can I order menus with a fold that isn't listed?

The online options are limited to the twelve folds in the dropdown. If your design needs something different, such as an unusual panel width, request a price through Get a Quote with the sheet size, fold and quantity so the job is priced properly.

Who will print my creased menus?

Web Print & Signs, a Manchester print, signs and web company that has worked with over 20,000 UK businesses since 2003. You can reach the team on 0161 315 1151 or by email at hello@webprintsigns.co.uk. Find out more on the about page.

Can menus be sent straight to my restaurant?

Yes. Enter the restaurant address at checkout and the delivery cost is shown before you pay. Make sure someone is there to receive the parcel during your opening hours. You can also collect from our Manchester studio if that is more convenient, and our coverage page lists the towns we serve.

How far ahead should I order a new season menu?

Allow around 5 working days for production plus delivery time, then add a buffer for final changes to dishes or prices. Ordering a week or two ahead of the switchover avoids a rush. If you are also updating outdoor boards, see our A-board signs.

What else can a creased menu be used for besides food?

The same folded format works for wine lists, cocktail menus, event running orders, treatment price lists in salons and spas, and order-of-service sheets. A gate fold is a nice touch for a wedding breakfast menu. For printed items in the same style, browse hospitality print.

Do creased menus suit takeaways?

They can, especially a larger run stocked at the counter. For menus that go out through letterboxes, our flyer printing service may be a better fit. Pair either with Takeaway Paper Bags to keep your branding consistent.

Can I get my menu online as well as in print?

Yes. Alongside print, Web Print & Signs builds websites, so the same menu can appear on a mobile-friendly page with a QR code on the printed version. See our web design Manchester service, and pair it with a Google Business Profile listing so diners can find you.
