Quick answers

How do I set the size of a promotional box?

You build the size from three dropdowns: Box Width, Box Height and Box Depth, each starting at Please select. Width runs from 20mm to 200mm, height from 50mm to 200mm and depth from 20mm to 200mm, in set steps. Measure your product first and add a little clearance. For a size outside those steps, use Get a Quote.

How much do promotional boxes cost?

The starting price is £104.93 for 25 boxes, on the cheapest combination of size, board and lamination. 100 boxes start at £221.40. Every choice moves the total, and the configurator shows the live price before you add the boxes to your cart. Browse the packaging and bags category to compare other formats.

Which board options are available?

The Substrate dropdown offers Technodesign 380gsm, Premium Card, Embossed Card and Havana. Technodesign 380gsm is the one with a listed weight; the others are named without one. Embossed Card suits a textured, gift-style box. If you need more detail on a particular board before ordering, ask the team.

What lamination can I add to a promotional box?

Choose from None, Gloss outer only, Soft Touch outer only or Matte outer only. Each laminate covers the outside of the box only. Gloss gives shine, Matte a flat finish and Soft Touch a velvety feel in the hand. To carry a premium finish onto your stationery, see luxury business cards.

How quickly can promotional boxes be made?

The typical turnaround is around 3 working days. Use it as a guide rather than a firm date, and add delivery time if you're not collecting from Manchester. For a launch or event with a fixed date, talk to the team before ordering so the timing can be confirmed.

How is this different from Promotional Boxes With Crash Lock?

This page lets you set your own width, height and depth in millimetres, with lamination and four boards. The crash lock version uses fixed die-cut formats with a crash lock base and adds Gold coating, Silver coating and Extra-thick varnish. Compare the two on the Promotional Boxes With Crash Lock page.

Can I collect promotional boxes in Manchester?

Yes, collection is from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. If you would prefer them sent, UK delivery is available and the price appears at checkout before you pay. Our custom packaging boxes Manchester page covers local box work in more detail.

What is the difference between Premium Card and Embossed Card?

Both are board choices in the Substrate dropdown. Embossed Card, as the name suggests, has an embossed surface, while Premium Card is listed without further detail. The product page doesn't list weights for either, so if stiffness matters for a heavier product, check before you order through the contact page.

Is Havana board a good choice for natural-looking packaging?

Havana is one of the four boards on offer, but the page doesn't describe its colour or surface. If a natural look matters to your brand, ask about it and confirm the shade before a big run. Matching brown packaging such as Printed Paper Bags in Brown Kraft can complete the set.

Should I pick Soft Touch or Gloss lamination?

Soft Touch outer only gives a smooth, velvety surface that feels premium in the hand, which suits cosmetics, gifts and luxury items. Gloss outer only adds shine and makes bright colours stand out on a shelf. Matte outer only sits between them with a flat, understated look. The choice is about how you want the box to feel.

Can I leave the box unlaminated?

Yes. Select None in the Lamination dropdown and the board is left as printed. That can suit a natural look, especially on Havana. If the box will be handled a lot or shipped, a laminate adds a protective outer layer. Check how the price changes as you switch between the options.

What is the smallest box I can make?

The lowest settings are 20mm wide, 50mm high and 20mm deep, which suits items such as lip balm, a USB stick or a sample vial. Very slim boxes can be fiddly, so think about how the product goes in and comes out. For tiny gifts, Pillow Boxes are another format worth comparing.

What is the largest promotional box available?

Each dimension tops out at 200mm, so the largest is 200mm wide, 200mm high and 200mm deep. That holds a gift set, a candle collection or a selection of samples. For bigger parcels sent by post, the Custom Mailer Boxes are designed with shipping in mind.

Why does each size dropdown start with Please select?

Width, height and depth all need an active choice, so the dropdowns start blank to stop a default size slipping through. Pick a measurement in each one and the price updates. If you are unsure which dimension is which on your product, measure it standing upright: width across the front, depth front to back, height top to bottom.

How much space should I leave around my product?

Allow a few millimetres on each side so the item slides in without forcing, and more if it sits in tissue or an insert. Measure at the widest point, including any cap or lid. Since the dropdowns move in set steps, round up to the next listed size. If your item falls between the steps, ask for a custom size through Get a Quote.

What quantities can I order?

The Quantity dropdown lists 25, 50, 75, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10000. Short runs of 25 suit samples and trial launches, while the higher steps cover retail stock. For a figure that isn't listed, the team can price it separately via Get a Quote.

How much do 1,000 promotional boxes cost?

On the cheapest combination of options, 1000 boxes start at £547.49 and 10000 start at £2,259.43. Your size, board and lamination choices set the actual figure, which the configurator shows live. For product labels to go on or in the box, see our packaging label printing service.

Does a bigger box cost more?

Size is part of the price, so changing width, height or depth can move the total. Board and lamination choices also affect it. The quickest way to compare is to set your quantity, then try different dimensions and finishes and watch the live price change before anything goes into the cart.

What file format should I send for box artwork?

A print-ready PDF at the finished size is the safest choice. Packaging artwork has to wrap around folds and flaps, so keep key text and logos clear of edges and creases. If you would rather hand the layout over, the design service at the artwork step can set the panels up for you.

Can you design the box for me?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service (+£36.00) at the artwork step and send your logo, product name and any text. A designer lays out the panels for your chosen size. If your brand needs work too, see the Logo and Brand Refresh service.

What should go on each panel of the box?

Put your logo and product name on the front, the main description or benefits on the back, and details such as website and social handles on the sides. The top is often seen first on a shelf or when lifting the lid, so a logo there works well. Keep any legally required product text clear and legible.

How do I order promotional boxes?

Choose Lamination, Box Depth, Box Height, Box Width, Substrate and Quantity, and the price updates as you go. Then pick your artwork option, add to cart and pay by card at checkout through Stripe, using Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Other items can be added from the online print shop before you pay.

Can I order boxes in several sizes at once?

Yes. Set up the first size and add it to the cart, then change the dimensions and add the next. Each size needs its own artwork, since the panels change shape. A brand with several products often orders a matching family of boxes this way, keeping the board and lamination the same across the range.

Can boxes be sent anywhere in the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available and the cost is calculated at checkout before you pay, or you can collect in Manchester. For larger quantities, check you have storage space ready when they arrive. You can see the places we regularly work with on the areas we cover page.

Who makes the promotional boxes?

WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED, a Manchester print, signs and web company trading since 2003 that has helped over 20,000 UK businesses. You can call 0161 315 1151 or email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk. Read more about Web Print Signs and the other services we offer.

Are promotional boxes good for product launches?

Yes. A printed box makes a new product feel finished, whether it's going to press, influencers or first customers. Short runs from 25 let you produce a launch batch without committing to retail volumes. To announce the launch, Flyers can be printed in matching colours and tucked inside.

Can I use these boxes for corporate gifts?

Yes. Companies use them for client gifts, staff rewards and event giveaways, often with Soft Touch lamination for a premium feel. Fill them with branded items from our promotional products range, such as pens, mugs or power banks, for a complete gift set.

Do small brands use promotional boxes for retail?

Yes. Candle makers, cosmetics brands and food producers use them to make shelf-ready packaging at modest quantities. A printed box gives space for the logo, ingredients and story. If you sell online as well, our ecommerce website design service can build the shop to match.

Can I use promotional boxes for sample packs?

Yes. Narrow boxes in the lower dimension settings suit sample sachets, tester bottles and swatches. Sending samples in a printed box makes them feel like a proper product rather than a freebie. Add a Postcard inside with an offer code to follow up the sample.
