Quick answers

What is a crash lock promotional box?

It is a printed carton named after its crash lock base, a common construction where the bottom locks into place as the box is opened up. The boxes on this page are printed on Technodesign 380gsm and made to the width, height and depth you choose. See the other box styles in the packaging and bags range.

What sizes can I order crash lock boxes in?

You set the size with three dropdowns. Box Width runs from 40mm to 200mm, Box Height from 60mm to 200mm and Box Depth from 40mm to 200mm, each in set steps. Measure the item you are packing and leave a little room for any tissue or insert. For a size outside those steps, use Get a Quote.

How much do crash lock promotional boxes cost?

The starting price is £188.86 for 25 boxes, on the cheapest combination of size and lamination. Bigger boxes or a different finish change the figure, and the configurator shows the live price for your exact choices before you add anything to your cart. You can price a similar style on Promotional Boxes to compare.

How long do crash lock boxes take to produce?

Typical production is around 5 working days. It is a guide rather than a fixed date, and delivery time comes on top unless you collect from Manchester. If your boxes are needed for a launch or a subscription dispatch on a set day, speak to the team before you order.

What card are the crash lock boxes made from?

Every box on this page uses Technodesign 380gsm as its fixed substrate, and no other board is offered in the dropdowns. You then pick Matte outer only, Gloss outer only or None for the lamination. If your product calls for a different board, explain what you need on the quote form.

What is the smallest run of crash lock boxes?

The smallest run is 25 boxes, which makes this a practical way to try out new packaging before committing to a bigger order. After 25 the steps are 50, 75, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10000. Pillow Boxes also start at 25 if you want to trial a second style alongside.

Can I collect crash lock boxes instead of having them delivered?

Yes, you can collect from the studio at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. UK delivery is the other route, with the cost added at checkout. Our custom packaging boxes Manchester page has more on local packaging work.

Asked by buyers 20

Why do the size dropdowns say Please select?

Box Width, Box Height and Box Depth each start blank, so you set all three measurements yourself instead of accepting a default. Choose a value in every dropdown before adding to cart, and the price updates once all three are set. Use the contact page if you are unsure how width and depth are measured on a carton.

Can I make a tall, slim crash lock box?

Yes. Pair a narrow Box Width such as 40mm or 50mm with a Box Height up to 200mm, and keep the depth shallow. That shape suits items like candles, tubes or narrow jars. If the item is a bottle, the Bottle Box page lists sizes made for that job.

What is the largest crash lock box available?

The top setting in each dropdown is 200mm, so the biggest box is 200mm wide, 200mm high and 200mm deep. That suits gift sets and subscription contents that need more room. For bulkier goods or parcels sent by post, look at the corrugated formats on Custom Mailer Boxes.

Is there a 75mm box width?

No. Box Width steps go 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120, 140, 150 and 200mm, so 75mm falls between two settings. Choose 80mm for a little extra room, or 70mm for a snugger fit if your item allows it. For an exact non-standard width, request one through Get a Quote.

Should I laminate my crash lock boxes?

That is up to you. Matte outer only is the standard specification and gives a low-sheen outside, Gloss outer only gives a shinier face, and None leaves the printed board without a laminate. Think about where the box will be seen, whether on a retail shelf or opened at home. Our point of sale printing page covers other shelf-ready print.

Does the lamination choice change the price?

Every dropdown can move the price, lamination included, and the configurator recalculates as soon as you switch between Matte outer only, Gloss outer only and None. Compare the totals on screen before you decide. If you are shortlisting styles, Promotional Boxes With Crash Lock is a related product worth pricing too.

What do 1000 crash lock boxes cost?

On the cheapest options, 1000 boxes cost £1,135.08 and 2000 cost £1,437.89. Your own width, height, depth and lamination set the real total, which the configurator shows live as you choose. Doubling the run adds far less than double the cost, so price both before deciding. Bespoke packaging work is covered on our packaging boxes page.

Can I order 150 crash lock boxes?

The dropdown jumps from 100 to 300, so 150 is not listed. You can take 100 now and reorder later, or step up to 300 if you will use the stock within a reasonable time. To have an exact in-between figure priced, ask the team with your size and finish.

Is it worth ordering 25 boxes first?

For a new product, often yes. A run of 25 lets you check fit, finish and how the box looks in hand before committing to hundreds. The cost per box is higher at that level, so move up the quantity steps once the design is settled. Pair the trial run with Stickers on a Sheet for sealing or labelling.

What artwork do I need for a crash lock box?

A print-ready PDF built to the box you configured is the safest file to send. The artwork covers the carton laid out flat, so it has to suit your chosen width, height and depth. If setting up a box layout is new to you, the Professional artwork and design service is available at the artwork step.

Can the design service lay out my box from scratch?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service, +£36.00, at the artwork step, and your logo and wording are arranged across the box. It suits brands without a packaging designer to hand. Matching business cards and printed inserts keep the rest of your branding in line.

Can part of the run carry a different design?

Each design goes in as its own cart item, with its own quantity and artwork. So 50 boxes for one flavour and 50 for another become two items. Splitting the run changes the cost per box, so compare the totals for one combined design against two separate ones. Browse the packaging category for other styles to mix in.

How do I order crash lock boxes online?

Set Lamination, Box Width, Box Height, Box Depth and Quantity, checking the live price as you go. Choose your artwork route, add the boxes to your cart and pay at checkout by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. Add Packaging Tape to the same order if you are shipping the boxes on.

Who is behind Web Print Signs?

WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED, based at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road in Manchester, with a second studio at 20 Burnley Road, Brierfield. The company has worked in print, signs and websites since 2003. Call 0161 315 1151 or email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk, or read more on the about page.

Can I add other print to the same checkout?

Yes. Put the boxes in your cart, then carry on through the shop to add flyers, labels or cards before you pay. Everything goes through in one card payment via Stripe. For bags to carry boxed goods out of a shop, see custom printed bags.

Are crash lock boxes delivered across the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available on every order, and the cost shows at checkout before you pay. Collection from Manchester is an alternative if you are nearby. Larger quantities take up storage space, so plan where the boxes will go once they arrive. Check areas we cover for the local towns we work in.

When should I order boxes for a subscription launch?

Allow around 5 working days for production, then add delivery and the time it takes to pack your first boxes. Build in a buffer for artwork changes too. If the online shop taking those subscriptions still needs building, our ecommerce website design team can help.

What products suit crash lock boxes?

Cosmetics, candles, confectionery, tea, retail gifts and subscription items are common fits, provided they sit within the 40mm to 200mm size range. Measure the item and pick the closest settings. For jewellery and lightweight favours, Pillow Boxes offer a different shape to consider.

Can crash lock boxes work as retail display packaging?

Yes. A printed carton on the shelf carries your brand, product name and key details on every face. Use the front for the name and the sides or back for features, ingredients or a short story. If the product inside also needs a label, see our product label printing service.

How can I make opening the box feel special?

Start with your brand on the outside, then add a printed card or thank-you note inside. Wrapping the product in branded paper adds another layer before the customer reaches it. Our Wrapping Paper and greeting card printing cover both of those extras.
