Quick answers

Which uncoated papers can I choose from?

Five: 350gsm Recycled Uncoated (the standard specification), 300gsm Natural Uncoated, 300gsm Premium Smooth White Paper, 300gsm Textured Uncoated and 300gsm Brown Kraft. Each is selected in the Paper Type dropdown. If recycled stock is your main priority, compare these with Recycled Business Cards.

Can I write on uncoated business cards?

Yes, that is one of the main reasons people choose them. Without a coating or lamination, the cards are easy to write appointment times, prices or a personal note on. That makes them a natural fit for salons, clinics and stamp-style cards; see loyalty card printing for layout ideas.

What is the starting price for uncoated business cards?

They start at £31.46 for 50 cards on the cheapest combination of paper, sides and corners. The configurator recalculates the price as you change each option, so the figure you see is for your exact choices. For a quantity outside the list, use Get a Quote.

How quickly are uncoated business cards printed?

Production typically takes around 2 working days. Treat that as a usual time rather than a fixed date, and allow for delivery if you are not collecting. If the cards must be ready for something specific, check with the team before you order.

Do uncoated cards come with rounded corners?

They can. The Round Corners dropdown lets you choose None or Yes, and it works alongside any of the five papers. Rounded corners give the card a softer shape. Other card products with and without this option are in the business cards category.

Can uncoated business cards be laminated?

No. There is no Lamination dropdown here, which keeps the paper surface bare and easy to write on. If you want a laminated card in Soft Touch, Matt or Gloss, Standard Business Cards offer all three.

Where can I collect uncoated cards in Manchester?

From Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. If collecting doesn't suit, UK delivery is available and the cost shows at checkout. More about cards made at the studio is on business cards in Manchester.

Asked by buyers 22

What is the difference between Natural Uncoated and Premium Smooth White Paper?

Both are 300gsm uncoated choices. Premium Smooth White Paper is, as the name says, a smooth white stock, while Natural Uncoated is the alternative for buyers who prefer a natural uncoated stock over a bright white one. If you would like help picking between them for your design, ask the studio.

Is 300gsm Brown Kraft a good choice for a handmade or artisan brand?

It often is. A brown card base sits well with brands that use Kraft bags, boxes or labels, so the card feels part of the same family. If you want packaging to match, see custom packaging boxes.

Why is 350gsm Recycled Uncoated the default paper?

It is the standard specification for this product and the heaviest of the five stocks at 350gsm; the others are 300gsm. It also gives you recycled paper without extra decisions. Flyers on matching recycled stock are available as Recycled Flyers.

How does 300gsm Textured Uncoated here compare with Textured Business Cards?

The same 300gsm Textured Uncoated appears on both. This page adds Round Corners and a 50-card minimum, while Textured Business Cards add 250gsm Rives Shetland and a choice of 85mm x 55mm or 55mm x 55mm sizes.

What size are uncoated business cards?

No size dropdown or fixed size is listed on this product page. If you need a particular measurement confirmed or a custom size, send the details through the quote form. For a 55mm square card, look at Square Business Cards.

Should I print on one or both sides of an uncoated card?

Single Sided keeps the back free for handwriting, which suits appointment cards. Double Sided gives you room for a QR code, a map or your services. If your QR code points to your Google listing, our Google Business Profile service can make that listing work harder.

Can I add foil or spot UV to uncoated cards?

Not on this product. The choices here are limited to paper type, sides printed, round corners and quantity, which keeps the card simple. For a metallic finish, see Metallic Foil Business Cards, or for spot UV highlights, Spot UV Business Cards.

What quantities can I choose for uncoated cards?

The dropdown lists 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 750, 1000, 2000 and 5000. That suits a sole trader's first box as well as a team's yearly supply. For 3000, 10000 or another figure, ask for a quote.

What do 500 and 1000 uncoated cards cost?

On the cheapest combination of options, 500 cards are £54.02 and 1000 cards are £67.01. Choosing a different paper, double sided printing or rounded corners can change those figures, so check the live price in the configurator for your setup.

Will rounded corners or double sided printing raise the price?

They can, as every dropdown feeds into the total. The page updates the figure each time you change a setting, so switch the options on and off at your quantity to see the effect. Other print can be priced the same way in the online print shop.

What artwork file do uncoated cards need?

A print-ready PDF at the finished card size is the safest file to supply, and uploading your own artwork is free. Leave clear space on the card if people will be writing on it. For help getting your file right, contact the team.

Can you design uncoated cards from scratch?

Yes. Pick the Professional artwork and design service at the artwork step for +£36.00 and send your logo, wording and any colour preferences. No logo yet? The Logo and Brand Refresh service can create or update one first.

How much space should I leave for handwriting?

Enough for what will actually be written. An appointment card needs a line or two for a date and time, while a loyalty card needs a grid of boxes big enough for a stamp or initials. Keep the rest of the design simple so the written part stays easy to read.

How do I order uncoated business cards?

Select Paper Type, Sides Printed, Round Corners and Quantity, watching the price update as you go. Choose your artwork option, add the cards to your cart and pay by card at checkout. Other card styles are in the card range.

Which payment methods work at checkout?

You pay by card through Stripe, which accepts Visa and Mastercard as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. Delivery, if you are not collecting, is calculated and shown at checkout before you confirm the payment.

Can I order matching stationery with my uncoated cards?

Yes. Use the same logo and colours across each item and add them to one cart. Letterheads are ordered from their own product page, and compliment slips complete a simple stationery set.

Can uncoated cards be delivered across the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available and the cost appears at checkout before you pay. Customers near Manchester can collect from the studio instead. The areas we cover page lists the local towns served.

How soon should I order uncoated cards before a market or fair?

Allow around 2 working days for production plus delivery time, and a little more if you still need the artwork finished. If you are also handing out leaflets at the stall, see flyer printing in Manchester and order both together.

What kind of businesses pick uncoated cards?

Start-ups, artists and eco-conscious brands are common buyers, along with anyone who wants an approachable, natural-feeling card. WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED has printed for UK businesses since 2003; read more about the company.

Can uncoated cards double as price tags or product labels?

Some makers use them that way, writing a price on the back or tucking a card into a bag. For tags made to hang on products, see Swing Tags or read about price tag printing.

Do uncoated cards suit a craft or market-stall business?

Yes. They sit naturally with handmade products and Kraft or recycled packaging, and you can write a note or price on them at the stall. If you also need branded bags for purchases, see Printed Paper Bags.

Should I choose uncoated or standard business cards?

Choose uncoated if you want a natural paper feel and the option to write on the card. Choose standard if you want a silk board or lamination. Standard Business Cards also reach far larger quantities, up to 50000.
