Quick answers

How much does printed packaging tape cost?

The lowest figure is £485.18, which is the cheapest combination at a quantity of 72. Lower quantities are not always cheaper: on the cheapest options, a quantity of 12 comes to £1,069.61. Try a few quantities in the configurator, which shows the live price for your size, material and colours. For other amounts, use Get a Quote.

How long does custom packaging tape take?

Around 26 working days is typical, which is a longer lead time than many items in the range, so plan ahead and order before your current tape runs low. If you need branded parcels in the meantime, Stickers on a Sheet can seal boxes with your logo while the tape is in production.

What tape sizes are available?

There are six sizes: 24mm x 50m, 36mm x 50m, 48mm x 50m, 72mm x 50m, 48mm x 66m and 48mm x 500m. The first figure is the width and the second the length. Most sizes are 50m long, while 48mm width also comes as 66m and 500m. See the rest of the packaging and bags range for boxes to seal.

Which packaging tape material should I choose?

There are five materials: Polypropylene Solvent, Polypropylene Hot Melt, Vinyl, High Tack Acrylic and Kraft Paper. Kraft Paper is the standard specification. The best choice depends on your boxes and how you pack, so if you are unsure, ask the team with details of what you are sealing before you order.

How many print colours can packaging tape have?

The Number Colours dropdown offers 1 Colour, 2 Colour or 3 Colour for your design. That is separate from the Tape Colour, which can be Brown, White or Clear. A one-colour logo on brown or white tape is the simplest setup. For printed labels to go with it, see our packaging label printing service.

What is the minimum order for printed tape?

The smallest quantity is 12. From there the dropdown steps through 24, 36, 48, 72, 96, 144, 192, 288 and 384 up to 432. Check the live price at a few of those steps, as the total does not always rise with quantity. For a figure that isn't listed, ask through the quote form.

Can I collect packaging tape in Manchester?

Yes. Orders can be collected from Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. If you would rather have the tape sent, UK delivery is available and the cost shows at checkout before you pay. Towns around the city are listed under areas we cover.

Asked by buyers 21

What is the 48mm x 500m size for?

It is by far the longest option, ten times the length of the 50m sizes. That suits high-volume packing, where changing rolls often slows the team down. Check that your dispenser or packing equipment takes a roll of that length before ordering. For the boxes themselves, see our custom packaging boxes page.

Should I pick 48mm x 50m or 48mm x 66m?

Both are the same width, so they seal a box the same way. The 66m version gives you 16m more tape per roll, which means fewer changes during a busy packing day. Compare the live prices for each in the configurator. Branded Custom Mailer Boxes pair well with either width.

When does the 72mm width make sense?

The widest option, 72mm x 50m, covers more of a seam and gives your print more room, so it suits larger cartons. For compact parcels, 24mm or 36mm widths keep the tape in proportion to the box. Match the width to the packaging you use most. Larger box formats are listed under Promotional Boxes.

How do Polypropylene Solvent and Polypropylene Hot Melt differ?

Both are polypropylene tapes, and the names point to different adhesive types. The page does not list performance details for each, so if you need to know which works best on your boxes or in your storage conditions, contact the team with what you are packing.

Can I get printed paper tape?

Yes. Kraft Paper is one of the five materials and is the standard specification for this product. Choose it in the Material dropdown, then set your Tape Colour, number of print colours and quantity. If you are building a paper-based look for your parcels, Wrapping Paper can carry the same branding inside the box.

Can my logo go on clear tape?

Yes. Clear is one of the three Tape Colour options, alongside Brown and White. With clear tape the box shows through around your print, so the logo appears to sit straight on the carton. Choose the number of print colours your logo needs. For clear-backed branding elsewhere, try Custom Sticker Sheets.

Does adding print colours change the price?

Every dropdown can move the price, Number Colours included, and the configurator updates the moment you switch between 1 Colour, 2 Colour and 3 Colour. Compare the totals on screen before you commit. If your logo works in one colour, that keeps the setup simple. Other branded items can be added from the shop.

Should I use white or brown tape?

Match it to your boxes. White tape tends to look tidy on white cartons, while brown blends in with plain cardboard so the print stands out on its own. Clear is the third option if you want the box to show through. If you are ordering printed boxes too, see the board choices on Custom Mailer Boxes.

Why can a larger quantity cost less than 12?

The configurator prices each quantity on its own, and the cheapest combination available at 72 comes in lower than the one at 12. So ordering more can cost less in total at some steps. Check several quantities before you settle on one, and ask through Get a Quote if you want a specific figure priced.

What do 144 printed tapes cost?

On the cheapest options, a quantity of 144 comes to £710.71 and 288 comes to £1,197.86. Your own size, material, colours and tape colour set the real total, which the configurator shows live as you choose. Compare other packaging prices in the packaging category.

How much tape should a growing online shop order?

Work out how many parcels you send in a typical month and how much tape each one uses, then cover at least the lead time of around 26 working days plus a buffer. Ordering too little means running out before the next batch arrives. If your shop itself needs work, see ecommerce website design.

What artwork works best on packaging tape?

Keep it simple and bold: a logo, your web address or a short line, repeated along the tape. On narrow sizes such as 24mm, fine detail and long text get lost, so give the design room. A print-ready PDF is the safest file. If you would like help sizing the repeat, get in touch.

Can you design the tape artwork for me?

Yes. Choose the Professional artwork and design service, +£36.00, at the artwork step, and your logo and wording are set up for the tape. It is useful if you only have a logo file. Matching corporate stationery keeps your letters and invoices in the same style.

Can the tape show my website address?

Yes, any text in your artwork is printed, and a web address is one of the most useful things to put on a parcel. Keep it short and large enough to read at a glance. If your website needs updating before thousands of parcels point people to it, see our web design Manchester service.

How do I order custom packaging tape?

Choose a Size, Material, Number Colours, Tape Colour and Quantity, watching the live price as you go. Then pick your artwork option, add the tape to your cart and pay at checkout by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. Branded Crash Lock Promotional Boxes can go in the same order.

Who prints the tape and how do I reach them?

Your order is handled by WEB PRINT & SIGNS LIMITED, a Manchester print, signs and web company working since 2003. Call 0161 315 1151, message 07737 902425 on WhatsApp or email hello@webprintsigns.co.uk. The company also runs a second studio at 20 Burnley Road, Brierfield. Read more about Web Print Signs.

Is packaging tape delivered across the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is available, and the cost is calculated at checkout before you pay. Customers near Manchester can collect from the Bury New Road studio instead. Larger quantities arrive as bulky cartons, so check there is space to store them. Local towns appear on areas we cover.

When should I reorder printed tape?

Reorder while you still have several weeks of stock left. With a typical turnaround of around 26 working days, plus delivery, waiting until the last roll is in the dispenser means packing with plain tape for a while. Keeping a note of how fast you use it makes the timing easy to judge.

Why use branded tape instead of plain tape?

Every parcel carries your name in transit and on the doorstep, so the brand is seen before the box is opened. Printed tape also makes it more obvious if a parcel has been opened and resealed with plain tape. It is one of the easiest ways to brand stock boxes. See our packaging boxes page for printed cartons too.

What else should I brand for my parcels?

Tape works best as part of a set. Printed Custom Mailer Boxes carry the brand on the box itself, and Postcards make good thank-you or offer cards inside. Keeping the same colours across tape, box and insert makes every delivery look like it comes from one brand.

Can I print a handling message such as Fragile?

Yes. Any wording in your artwork is printed, so a handling message can sit next to your logo or alternate with it along the tape. Choosing 2 Colour lets the warning stand apart from the branding. For separate warning labels, browse the stickers and labels range.
