Sign Face Replacement Ashton-under-Lyne

A cracked or faded lightbox face on an Ashton-under-Lyne shop or takeaway does not mean the whole sign has to go. We make new faces and new vinyl to fit the frame already on your building and fit them, so the sign looks sharp again while the box, fixings and lighting stay in place.

Why so many Ashton signs need new faces

Takeaways and shops trading late keep their lightboxes on for long hours, and the faces take years of sun during the day as well. Older acrylic goes brittle and cracks, especially around the fixing points, and printed colours fade unevenly. A sign that is half faded tells passers-by the business is not looking after its frontage.

Taking over a unit near the market or on one of the main roads often means inheriting a working sign box with someone else’s name on it. Replacing the face is the quickest way to make it yours. Our sign face replacement Manchester page has more background.

Measuring up in Ashton

We need the exact size of the frame and the way the face is held in. Many signs can be measured from photos with a tape in shot, but projecting signs and anything high up are better measured in person. Ashton-under-Lyne is roughly 25 to 30 minutes from our office in Cheetham Hill, depending on traffic.

Takeaways and late-opening shops

For a business that is lit up in the evening, the face has to look right both ways: in daylight, when it is seen as a printed panel, and at night, when light comes through it. Colours behave differently when lit, so we use inks and materials made for illuminated signs and check dark colours carefully, because a deep red or navy can look almost black when backlit if the wrong material is used.

Polycarbonate is worth considering for signs within reach of the pavement, because it copes with knocks far better than acrylic. For higher signs acrylic is usually fine and keeps its colour well.

We do not touch the wiring. If your tubes or LEDs have failed, a qualified electrician needs to fix them, and we can fit the new face once they are done. For new signs, see illuminated signs and LED signs, or the shop signs Ashton-under-Lyne page.

Flat fascias without lighting can usually be refreshed with new vinyl. We strip the old lettering, clean off its glue and apply new cut or printed vinyl over the sound panel, which changes the frontage in a few hours. If the panel is dented or coming away from the wall, we will say so and suggest a new fascia instead.

What do customers ask before ordering?

Can you change a takeaway sign in Ashton without closing the shop?

Yes. Faces can often be swapped during quieter hours or in the evening by arrangement, so you keep trading.

Can you match our old colours?

We can work from your brand colours or the original artwork. Matching a faded face is not useful, so we match the colours it should be.

What if the frame is damaged?

If the box is rusted or the trims are broken, a new face will not last. We tell you that from the photos and can quote for a new sign instead.

Do you fix sign lighting?

No. We replace faces and vinyl only, and lighting faults need a qualified electrician.
