Measuring the frame

A new face has to fit the existing box exactly, so we measure the frame, the retaining trims and the depth. For many signs we can do this from photos with a tape measure in shot, but larger or projecting signs need a visit. Faces only, not the electrics

We replace the parts of the sign people see. If tubes have failed or LED modules are dark, that is electrical work and needs a qualified electrician. It is often worth having the lighting checked at the same time as a new face, and we can plan our visit around your electrician’s.

Non-illuminated fascias are often simpler still. If the panel underneath is sound, we clean it, remove the old vinyl and its glue, and apply new lettering or a full printed wrap over the top. That changes the look of the frontage in a few hours without new fixings in the wall. Where the panel is dented, rusting at the edges or coming away from the board behind, we will say so, because new vinyl over a damaged panel does not last.

When you send photos, include one taken straight on and one from the side, and if you can, a close-up of the edge trim. That tells us how the face is held in and whether it can be taken out from the front.
