Vans that work hard around Hyde

Hyde’s manufacturers and trade suppliers send vans out every day along the M67 and across Tameside, while market traders load up for Hyde Market and care providers use lettered vehicles for home visits. Graphics on vans like these face constant sun, rain and washing, and after a few years the vinyl is hard and brittle.

Peeled off cold, old vinyl cracks into small pieces and leaves a film of glue that collects dirt and looks worse than the lettering did. Taken off with heat and patience, it lifts away and leaves the paint as it was. Our van livery removal Manchester page has more on the method.

Getting a quote from Hyde

Send photos of each side, the back and the bonnet, with a close-up of the oldest graphic, plus the make and model, by WhatsApp or email. We reply with a fixed quote and suggest a date.

Hyde is roughly 25 to 30 minutes from our office via the M60 and M67, depending on traffic. We can work at your premises if there is safe space around the van, or you can bring it to our office in M8 by arrangement.

Old lettering and patched graphics

Trade and supply vans often carry years of changes: an extra phone number added later, a new website address stuck over the old one, accreditation logos on the back doors and a patch where a panel was repaired. Each addition is a separate layer of vinyl with its own adhesive. We remove them in order, from the top layer down, and check the paint underneath at each stage.

Repaired panels need particular care. Paint on a resprayed panel is often softer than factory paint and can lift if vinyl is pulled too quickly. If you know a panel has been repaired, tell us, and we will test a small area before removing the rest.

Market traders and care providers often have lettering on cars as well as vans. The same method works on cars, with shorter sections because the panels are smaller and more curved.

If the replacement vehicle needs branding, it can be lettered in the same booking using vehicle lettering, or redesigned with van graphics, so you are only off the road once.

Useful to tell us

  • When the van needs to be ready, for example a lease return date
  • Any panels that have been resprayed
  • Where the van is kept and how much space there is
  • Whether new lettering is needed afterwards

What do customers ask before ordering?

Can you remove graphics at our unit in Hyde?

Yes, if there is safe space around the van and shelter from rain. Otherwise the van can come to our office in M8 by arrangement.

Can you do the van on a market day off?

Yes. We can book a day that suits your trading week, including weekends and evenings.

Will the paint underneath be damaged?

Factory paint is left as it was. Resprayed panels can be softer, so we test them before removing vinyl from them.

Could I see an outline of the old lettering?

On older vans a faint outline can show where the paint around the graphics faded. The glue is always removed, and we warn you if an outline is likely.

Do you remove graphics from cars too?

Yes. Lettered cars are done the same way, in shorter sections.

How long does a van take?

It depends on the amount and age of the vinyl. We give a realistic time with your quote.
