Leigh vans, from workshop runabouts to A580 fleets

Creative businesses and small makers renting space in the old mill often run a single small van for deliveries and markets, usually wrapped in bold artwork. Trades and builders around Leigh run plain vans with cut lettering. Logistics firms near the East Lancashire Road run fleets on leases. Each has a different kind of graphic, and each comes off differently.

Printed artwork wraps are thin, wide and laminated; cut lettering is thicker and smaller; fleet vans often carry reflective vinyl. What they share is that rushed removal leaves glue and sometimes damaged paint, which costs money at resale or lease return. The van livery removal Manchester page goes into the technique.

How we quote Leigh jobs

Photograph the van from both sides, the back and the front, then take a close shot of the oldest-looking graphic and anything cracked. Message the photos with the make and model and we send a fixed figure back.

Leigh sits roughly 35 to 45 minutes from our Cheetham Hill office along the A580 East Lancashire Road, depending on traffic. For one van it is often simplest to bring it to us in M8 by arrangement; for several, we come to your yard if there is safe room to work.

Removal, start to finish

1

Assess from photos

We work out the vinyl type, age and condition.

2

Book it in

A fixed quote, a date and a location are agreed.

3

Soften and lift

Low heat loosens the adhesive so the film comes away whole where possible.

4

Strip residue

Remaining glue is dissolved with a paint-safe product and wiped off.

5

Inspect

Seams, handles and trims are checked for leftover fragments.

You get

  • Full or part wraps removed, laminate and print together
  • Cut vinyl names, numbers and logos taken off
  • Chevrons and window graphics removed
  • Glue cleared from panels, gaps and trims
  • A clean, wiped vehicle
  • All waste removed by us

Artwork wraps on makers’ vans

A fully printed wrap on a small van is usually the most involved removal we do for a single vehicle. The laminate on top can separate from the printed film underneath, especially after a few summers, so instead of one sheet coming away you get two layers to deal with. We work in manageable panels, keep the heat moderate so neither the paint nor the plastic trims are stressed, and take our time around wheel arches, bumpers and mirror housings, where wraps are stretched hardest.

Rear doors and sliding doors also hide wrap film in their shut lines. That film is invisible until the door opens, and it is the bit a buyer finds first. We open every door and clear those edges too.

If the next van needs your branding, it can be done with a new van wrap or simpler vehicle lettering, ideally booked straight after the removal.

What do customers ask before ordering?

Is it worth the drive from Leigh to bring the van to you?

For one van, often yes, as we have space to work regardless of weather. For several vans, we usually come to you instead, as long as your yard has safe room around each vehicle.

My wrap is cracking all over. Can it still come off?

Yes, it just takes longer. Cracked wrap comes away in smaller pieces, and we price for that from your photos rather than surprising you on the day.

Will the van look exactly like new afterwards?

The vinyl and glue will be gone. On older vans, the paint that was covered can be slightly brighter than the paint around it, and we tell you beforehand if that is likely.

Can you strip a whole logistics fleet?

Yes. We schedule vans around your rota, so only a few are off the road at once.

Do I need to clean the van first?

A wash beforehand helps, as road dirt on the edges of the vinyl makes the job slower. We clean the panels again afterwards.

Can you remove stickers from inside the windows?

Yes. Inside and outside window graphics are included if you mention them.
