Sign Removal Stretford

Trafford Park units are re-let constantly, and shops around Stretford Mall change hands too. Each time, the old sign has to come off. We remove panels, letters, lightboxes, totems, projecting signs and window vinyl, including signs high on warehouse cladding, and take everything away so the building is ready for its next occupier.

Warehouses, trade counters and local shops

In Trafford Park, buildings are large and signs are high: long panels and individual letters on cladding above loading bays and offices, and totems at the gate. Trade counters have signs over the entrance and on the roadside. In Stretford itself, shops around Stretford Mall and neighbourhood parades have fascias and lightboxes, and hospitality businesses near Old Trafford often have signs for match days.

Each needs its own method and equipment. Our sign removal Manchester page describes the general service.

Surveying first

Stretford is roughly 20 to 25 minutes from our office via the A56 and Chester Road, depending on traffic. Shop signs can often be priced from photos. Warehouse signs need a visit to check heights, fixings, ground conditions and how the yard is used, before we plan access equipment.

Working on a busy industrial estate

Trafford Park never really stops. Lorries come and go, forklifts work in yards and roads can be busy. Before starting, we agree with the site manager where our access equipment stands, how the area is fenced off and how traffic is routed around it. Where it is quieter at certain times, we work then, including nights and weekends.

Letters and panels on cladding are fixed through the sheet. We remove each fixing so the cladding is not torn, and leave the holes visible so the landlord can arrange sealing. Totem faces can come out without removing the structure if the next tenant wants to reuse it.

In Stretford’s shops, lightboxes and projecting boxes are wired in, so the supply is isolated first, then faces come out and boxes are lowered with the pavement fenced off. Old window lettering is scraped off and the glass cleaned.

New tenant? We can remove the old sign and fit yours in one job using shop signs and fascia signs. The shop signs Stretford page covers new signs locally.

Gate totems often stay for the next tenant. If yours is sound, we can take out only the faces and leave the structure, which saves the landlord the cost of a new totem and keeps the entrance signed. If the totem is coming out completely, we discuss what is below ground before quoting.

Warehouse signs sometimes hide old fixings from earlier tenants as well. We remove those at the same time, so the cladding is left as clean as possible.

What do customers ask before ordering?

We are leaving a Trafford Park warehouse. What does the landlord usually want?

That depends on the lease. Some want every sign and fixing gone, others want the totem left for the next tenant. Check the dilapidations terms and we will work to them.

Can you remove signs before our move-out inspection?

Yes. Give us the inspection date and we will finish with time to spare.

Can the old letters be reused at our new site?

Sometimes. Letters in good condition can be removed carefully and packed for reuse, which we agree before we start.

Will the yard need closing?

Only the area under the access equipment, which we fence off. We agree the exact space with the site manager.

Do you handle Stretford shop signs as well as warehouses?

Yes. Shop fascias and lightboxes around Stretford Mall are removed with the pavement fenced off.

Do you need the power off for lit signs?

Yes. A qualified electrician must isolate the supply before we remove a lit sign.
