Salford buildings and their signs
Around Salford Shopping Centre in Pendleton, shops have fascias and lightboxes, often in a shopping centre setting with its own rules for contractors. Chapel Street and Greengate have older buildings alongside new offices and apartment blocks with commercial units at ground level, where signs are often individual letters fixed to cladding or glass. At the Quays and around MediaCityUK, offices carry name boards and graphics on glazed entrances.
Each needs a different method. Our sign removal Manchester page describes the service in general.
Right next door
Our office in Cheetham Hill is just across the River Irwell, roughly 10 to 20 minutes from most of Salford by road depending on traffic. We can look at a sign soon after you get in touch. Simple signs can be priced from photos; high, lit or complex signs are best seen in person.

Letters on cladding and glass in new buildings
Newer buildings along Chapel Street and at the Quays often have signs made of individual letters fixed to cladding panels or behind glass, and vinyl graphics on full-height glazing. These need careful removal: letters are taken off their fixings without scratching the cladding, and vinyl on glazing is softened and peeled so the glass is left clean and unmarked.
Many of these buildings are managed, with rules about when contractors can work, how access is arranged and how the public is kept safe. We work within those rules and coordinate with the building’s management.
On older buildings, signs may be fixed into brick or a timber fascia board. We remove fixings without levering against the brickwork and show you the condition of the board once the sign is off.
New tenant? We can remove the old sign and fit yours in one job with our shop signs and fascia signs services. Local details are on shop signs Salford.
Shops and takeaways around Pendleton and on the main roads often have a lightbox across the fascia and a projecting box on a bracket. Both are wired in, so your electrician isolates the supply first. We then take out the faces, unfix the boxes and lower them with the pavement fenced off, and remove or keep the bracket as you prefer.
Old window lettering and film come off in the same visit. Vinyl is softened and scraped from the glass with blades made for the job, and the glue is cleaned away so the new tenant starts with clear windows.
What do customers ask before ordering?
Can you remove signage from an office at Salford Quays?
Yes. We work within the building’s contractor rules and coordinate access with its management.
Will removing letters scratch the cladding?
We remove letters carefully from their fixings to avoid scratching. Fixing holes remain, and we show you where they are.
Can you remove vinyl from glazed entrances?
Yes. Vinyl is softened and peeled, and the glass cleaned.
Do you disconnect lit signs?
No. A qualified electrician isolates the supply first.
How quickly can you look at a Salford sign?
We are just across the river, so a survey is usually easy to arrange soon after you get in touch.
Can you work out of hours?
Yes. Evening and weekend removal can be arranged.
